Appears to be by all accounts of what was written in the article that the coaches were trying to protect someone who they new that the video footage would be damaging to any suit of involving assault charges.  It always seems that athletes are sheilded from paying the price for wrong behavior.  No wonder they continue wrong behavior into adulthood.
It is well less than half that are are held accountable. not always there are some that hold them accountable no matter what
4.
They probably aren't trying to draw any attention to the Montagne. If the scoreboard is over there, more people will be inclined to look at the ugly Montagne Center. I'm guessing the concrete walk ways circling the playing field will be for the player to walk down and then run out?
I think for reasonable costs they could put the scoreboard there and dress up the Montagne Center and the North side of the stadium where is would be pleasing to the eye.
5.
The athletic complex is coming along nicely.  I'm guessing the video scoreboard will go above all the windows. [img][Hidden Content]]
The scoreboard will need to be high so that installation of bowl seating in the south end zone will not impede the scoreboard view, which begs the question of how the south endzone seating will view the scoreboard when the seating is installed?  I guess just crane the neck.  I hope that Simmons and Tubbs are staying on top of the contractors and their scheduling to ensure completion by September. I would have never guessed 21 years ago that the declining status of the basketball program would create so much anticipation for the return of the football program.  I check this site regularly looking for football news.
6. The only 3-A team Lumberton should consider playing is Silsbee because of the rivalry factor.  They should play teams from other 4-A teams from Houston or up north like Naca-no-where or others in that district to up the level of competition and prepare for 20-4A.  Just another opinion.
7. The district should do more to make rivalry games the last game of the year.  Say PNG-NED.  Lumberton-Vidor is a good game to end the season for both teams.  Just an opinion.
8. Hopefully he is a real sleeper who slipped through the cracks.  Looks like we could have gotten a couple of those.  Real anxious to see how Woodard and the program develops over the next few years.  Wouldn't that be the bomb if we went 6-5 the first year with a sleeper win or two!
9. Gee I miss Dave Rogers over here in the triangle.  At least by now he would have had all the local school schedules printed in a newspaper article.  We definately need to import some talent in all phases of the game over here.
10. Where was Kyler Keith in the 200 & 400?
11.
The schedules are not all the way complete, guys...  Grad is still working on them...
Yeah this is a very difficult and time consuming process so don't expect final schedules till late summer or early fall. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) I know it is not Grad's fault.  Has to be the fault of the 20-4A Head Coaches/AD's as to finalizing the district schedule.  Maybe they are trying to build anticipation.
12. I guess Huggins thinks he will have a better chance to get in the tournament year in year out without the FCS confernces eating up spots.  Guess he doesn't think he can be in the upper echelon of his conference each year so he is looking for a backdoor entrance.  He would sing a different tune if he was at a FCS school.  He's a loser!
13. Don' think Lumberton will make the playoffs but they will not be in the basement either.

A bit robotic, just seemed a little fake to me.
I kinda chalked that up to having it typed out in order not to fall apart. he coulda read through that a few more times before hand to make it a little smoother though.
Stiff, stiff, stiff.  But then, how comfortable would you or I be standing up there confessing to God, and anyone else that will listen, all of our transgressions?  I am struck, however, by the acknowledgement of his poor deportment from time to time ON THE GOLF COURSE - speaking of the cursing, club throwing, etc.  The affairs and trysts, well that's his private life and I'M NOT throwing the first stone.
I guess he was confessing to Buddha.  I think he was wise to address the on course behavior.  If I were Elin, I wouldn't even consider trying to make it work until all of his management team was gone and replaced and she should be a part of the interview process for the selection of the new ones.  From what little I have heard spoken from Mark Stienberg, he would be the first to go.
15. Most in the field of human behavior recognize that sex in all it's forms can be an addiction.  I think if the guy is really going to change, he will, like all other addicts (alcohol and drugs) have to change his surroundings.  I'm pretty sure his agency and posse were helping to facilitate his habit.  My life experience has been when you "hang around the boys and do certain things, then you always and inevitably do the same things when you hang around the boys".  He won't get well hanging with the same old yes men and hanger's on group.
16. I guess there is no need for Roccoforte to recruit any of the players then since what he already has is better.  Hey I'm being sarcastic here guys.  Just expressing some overall dissappointment.  Hoping that the program will take off in the direction we all want it to but not getting the warm fuzzy yet that it will.  I am hopefull that bringing back football, as odd as that seems and against the conventional wisdom used back in the 80's about how basketball was going to take off with football gone, will actually help Roccoforte in recruiting so we can have the overall atheletic program that I feel Tubbs is trying to put in place.  It is moving slow, but hopefully in the right direction.
17. As it appears right now, the best Lamar Men's basketball team may be in Port Arthur!
18. I think I will see if I qualify to be a member of Education First and move some money there.
19. The Nederland kicker is pretty good and Harmon can be a Toby Gerhart type if he continues to work really hard.  I hope that all this is just the beginning of something special for LU.  If Woodard can get all these kids to really work and improve and he has the right coaches for teaching, game plan strategy and game execution, then we could have us a really nice fall afternoon/evening event to look forward to for years to come.  The key will be if he is the right guy, will LU do the right thing for him and the program long term.
20. I think that now looking back, they should not have spent the Hurricane money to restore the press box to its original design but should have included several more million dollars (probably 4 or 5) to signifciantly upgrade it now to  what they want it to be in the future.  Would have really been a show stopper with the athletic complex and other upgrades.
21. So how much does the new BISD 11,000 seat double decked video scoreboard turfed stadium cost?  I know that LU is spending about $8 million on the Athletic center but what are we going to get for the other $20 mil?  $1 million goes for turf.  My guess on the scoreboard cost is $2-3mil.  Does anyone know any particulars?
22.
Is the seating capacity increasing?  I think Cardinal Stadium holds 14,000 as is.
Seating capicity was 17,500 prior to renovation.   Heard on this board that it will be 16,000 after renovation.  Suppose to lose seating due to ADA changes, but obvoiously no new permanant seating.  If the maximum expansion capicity is 35,000 as has been reported on here, then obviously there are 19,000 additional seats to be added.  I have heard on here that they would extend the sides on the north end of the stadium (Montagne side) and bowl the south end with a small deck on the east side (plant side).  I would think that a maximum capicity of 35k is too small for the long term future of building a FBS program.  But that would be a nice cozy home field.  I would think you would redo the press box and add luxury suites on the west side under that plan.  Think big - be big, think small - be small.
23. Talent is always necessary. I'm pretty sure I could round up some kids for Dayton"s 2010 team that even Stewart couldn't win a game with.
24.
Tulsa
old news.
25. I wish Lumberton would just petition to move down to 3A since that is all we think we can compete with in pre district.  Geez.  With all the 4A schools on the east side of Houston, you think we could fill up a pre district schedule against those guys, but I guess they are afraid to play us LOL!
