5. Nederland pitchers faced only 22 batters during the game. (one over the min). Ozen had three baseruuners reach by error, two were eliminated by caught stealing and double play. Chambers pitched great for Ozen.
 6. Nederland JV defeated vidor JV 9-1........... ;D ;D

Brook has now played or scrimmaged most of the teams in the district.  As a non-biased observer, it seems to me that Nederland is clearly better than the others.  PNG, Livingston, LCM and Vidor seem about equal.  They all have decent pitching and average hitting.  Ozen has a nice pitcher, but they need more players.  I don't see them being in the hunt.  Haven't seen Central, but I assume they are still Central.
Yes, I agree that Nederland is clearly above the rest as it stands now. They have a dominant arm in Sanderson and have the offense that is capable of putting up crooked numbers against anyone. LCM will always be in contention but I dont know if they have enough talent to win games away from the matchbox they play their home games in. PNG has underperformed IMO but if Ashworth gets rolling then this team should win just about every game he throws in. Vidor has some pitching but is also underperforming IMO and their offense is just too inconsistent. Lumberton is inconsistent in every facet of the game it seems , and I dont believe they have the stud arm to win low scoring games against other top aces. Ozen and Livingston are both good when their #1 is on the mound but they just dont have enough around them to be consistent. And Central is Central but hopefully they will take steps in the right direction this season. Six days and counting!
This statement should read.... PNG has underperformed IMO but as long as Ledoux continues rolling then this team should win just about every game he throws in. Rake1
Na, I'm going to stick with my previous statement. Clearly Ledoux is already rolling right now and the Indians have been great with him on the bump. But that being said, (depending on how your schedule falls) having a 1-2 you can throw out there and be the favorite every night is the key in district play. I picked PNG to win district this year back in January and if Ashworth can get on a roll (and if Ledoux can continue doing what he has done) I think there is a good chance this team could give Nederland a run for the 20-4A title. 9.
I think Nederland has surprised a lot of people.Wins over Kelly,Santa Fe,Brazoswood,Angleton,Foster.Morton Ranch,Friendswood and Clear Lake.I do not think anyone has played a tougher schedule than Nederland. Also a tie 1-1 to Jersey Village and a beat down by Pearland. This team can pitch and hit very well. Both were big ? marks about this team. They have proven that they can play the low scoring game and the slug-fest.I am very pleased what I have seen from the Dogs after the first two tournaments!
I believe that the senior leadership is very evident on this team. This will go a long ways toward winning district.

By its colloquial definition - in other words, in normal conversation - the term "preseason" refers to the games leading up to district play. For example:
I think we will only get a 2 game preseason with the size of the district increasing.

There are long term or continuing rivalries that may come and go. Maybe like district opponents or a team that you play a few times a decade in preseason and/or in the playoffs.

This just in: Jeff Mathews told me has tentative agreements from Katy, Lake Travis and Lamar University to shut everyone up about who we play in the preseason.
I could go on with numerous other examples, but the one that sticks out the most is this quote, in which you responded to a series of comments including a quote from mytwocents that used the term "preseason" in its colloquial sense.

This must be the first time vidor has started off 3-0 because I have never heard them talk this much noise. The Dogs will have Pryor and Brown back and will pound Vidor.
You might wanna go check your stats before you run your mouth off. Vidor went undefeated in preseason in 2009 and 2008. When was the last time Nederland went undefeated in preseason. I think it was 2007.  ::)  ;D
Oh yea, 08 and 09 was when vidor beat deweyville, evadale, and spurger to enter into district undefeated.
Uhhh no we didn't. Check again Roughrider.
=moron? 8)
You'll notice that in this case, you made no attempt to "correct" that technical misuse of the term. So I'm forced to ask, is your obsession with me so strong that you don't feel the need to point out such mistakes for others? ;) 8)
I guess that your ignorance has the opportunity to educate others?
