After that second quarter flash by LCM, the Huffman side was sweating the rest of the game. In hindsight, it was the play calling that stopped that momentum. LCM has the kids on offense to at least compete. But a team can’t ride one player (#13) for a whole game against a good defense. LCM scored on a beautiful pick 6 (if your a Bears fan), caught HH napping on that onside recovery, then scored easily to get 14 on the board. They had some momentum and then the play calling became predictable and one dimensional. Maybe the Huffman defense just made it appear that way.

LCM got with 10 yards to end the half but couldn’t score. Halftime 28-14 Huffman but it looked like a beat down in the first quarter. LCM came alive in the 2nd and made it a game.

2pt is good on a WR pitch and pass. 28-14. LCM ain’t laying down. Wow.

well....I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I would say Splendora isn't the best team they have faced (I think thats Concordia Lutheran).

Thats a pretty grim assessment. The common denominator is BC losing. Ouch.

Splendora seemed like they could have competed. A bad turnover and a demoralizing tipped option pitch that resulted in a defensive TD for Huffman just knocked the fire out of them. Once they got behind, they started throwing the ball and making some mistakes. Snowball effect. Not to overlook the Huffman defense though. They play tough and there wasn't many explosive plays from Splendora. Splendora had quite a few 3rd downs and they converted a lot. But they weren't going to keep up with a shootout.

Huffman scores to go up 14, KO that Splendora can’t return. End up on their own 7. Huffman defense tips an option pitch and recovers in the end zone to go up 21-0. kinda knocked all the wind out of any splendora sails. The Huffman defense started teeing off after that.

3:00 left, Huffman has the ball on the Lumberton 12 yard line. Lumberton burnt all their TO’s. Two of them on an extra point attempt.

Yes. 14-6. Lumberton scores first and went for 2. Didn’t work. They had a horrible false start penalty on 4th and 3 that forced them to punt. This offense can’t compete if they keep having errors two TD passes for Huffman. Lumberton is converting almost all their 3rd and 3-4’s and just eating clock. Their offense is going to have a tough time catching up if they don’t break something loose. huffman recovered one fumble at 2 minutes left in half and then marched down the field and scored.

Crosby DB’s are teeing off. They are playing with an extra DB because they just don’t need it in the box to get pressure.
