In the 2018 midterms, the Republicans had 4 pickups from blue to red. 1st time since John F. Kennedy in 1962 that a president in power's party picked up a single senate seat in a midterm election. The party in power has done this only 4 times since 1934 in the midterms. What's also amazing, this was done even after the bruising battle over the Kavanaugh nomination. Like one pundit said, you want to run away from Trump -- then you be the first! Wait, what's that sound? That's the sound of no one running!!
