Things Art Briles hasn't tried to win a football game.
Reagan replied to NHSBulldogFan's topic in High School Football
I know the story and can see who's at fault. This individual could have told Briles anything about the move. Apparently the Superintendent, who I understand is a great man, didn't know about the move being for " athletic purposes." So, yes, it's very possible Briles didn't know. Otherwise Mount Vernon would not have appealed the decision. -

So, you are assuming based on your dislike for the man. OK -- I get that. As far as Hillary, once they get all the facts -- they will find her guilty. And in Briles' situation, they did examine all the facts and put out the statement that he was not guilty of recruiting! Those are facts and not just opinions based on what the committee found. Crap didn't start until accusation started flying around at Baylor. Up until that point he was a model citizen. Someone makes accusation then all of a sudden Briles becomes the devil. I don't think so!! You don't pay a man 16 million dollars because he's guilty! Heck -- Baylor even put out a statement that said Briles was not guilty of anything! At Baylor, according to Grant Teaff, Briles did not have one recruiting violation. So... -
Might as well put him in with the rest of the clowns!

The committee said Briles was not guilty. So, you have different information? if so, please share with us. BTW -- yes -- I admire elite coaches. I admire anyone tops in their field. -

From the article: "Still, if you asked Tiger Hanner, the attorney for the Nellor family, this whole thing was about something else. “I have my own personal opinion,” he said, “that the district is upset about Art Briles being the head coach at Mount Vernon.” “Coach Briles and his staff, none of them were ever accused of this,” Motheral ( chairman of the state committee ) said, “and they’re not guilty of any kind of recruiting.” -
When does the program become the new coaches?
Reagan replied to AHUDDLESTON's topic in High School Football
Agreed! Also, you are right: A lot of people get head coaching jobs for other reasons than that they deserve it. Like, for instance, Superintendents not wanting to be over shadowed by a winning HC. Etc, Etc... -

Who said he was the one that initiated those kids coming to MV? Hummm!? But, you are right, he will win regardless the hand dealt him. Again, that's what elite coaches do! -

When does the program become the new coaches?

A coach owns it in the first year. I usually give first the year a pass. Got to have time to implement the program. Second year should show marked improvement. The third year should be challenging for a District title. But, with that being said, it does take some elite coaches more than three years to have their team in a position to challenge for a State Title. -
Ozen's coaches: Arthur Louis, Thomas Brooks, John Clayton, Ishan Rison, Jeff Nelson, Keeth Magee, David Suggs, and Edward Taylor. Central's coaches: Steve Shaver, Marvin Sedberry, Enoch Dixon, Eric Jackson, Donald Stowers, Andrew Washington, Toby Foreman, and Jeff Nelson. BU: Arthur Louis Now you, or any one, tell me which one of these coaches is an elite coach. If you have some names, tell us why you think this is. Steve Shaver did tie once for a State Title. But, never really did anything else.

Of course anything is possible! But, I don't see HJ scoring against WOS' D. I'll say 35-0.

Do the well coached QB's make constant mistakes? Does the WB QB? Does Todd Dodge's QB? Does the Aledo QB? Does the Carthage QB?
-
True on the swapping. Everything you have stated, It all begins with the HC!
