A capitalist walked into a bar, sat down between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders. Just then the 10 oâclock news came on. The lead story was of a man on a ledge of a skyscraper preparing to commit suicide by jumping off of it. Bernie looked at the capitalist and said, âYou think heâll jump?â The capitalist replied, âYep. I bet he will.â
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie both shot back, âWell, we bet that he wonât.â The capitalist put 10 bucks on the bar, said, âYouâre on.â Just as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders placed their money on the bar, the guy did a swan dive off the building. He took a plunge toward his death. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie were very upset, bitterly, bitterly tried not to hand their money over to the capitalist. They didnât want to do it. They felt somehow they had been cheated, screwed, tricked.
With a slight smile, the capitalist said, âLook. I canât take your money. Keep your money. I saw this earlier on the 5 oâclock news, and I knew the guy jumped. Itâs the 10 oâclock news. It happened earlier today. Iâve already seen this.â Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shot back, âWell, we saw it, too, but we didnât think heâd do it again.â
OK -- what's the moral of the joke/story?
