I stand corrected: It took Briles only 6 years to start his State Championship run. Another correction: He won 4 State Championships in his last 7 years. 3 of those were 16-0. And 1 was 15-1. Impressive on any level. The previous 73 years, of the schools existence or the keeping of records, Stephenville had NEVER won a State Championship. Briles comes in and wins 4! Contrary to what some think, it is about coaching. Otherwise one would have to believe that the athletes only showed up at Stephenville when Art Briles was there. I guess it's possible. But...

This is a tough question. It took Briles 7 years to start winning his 3 State Championships in 4 years. Now, will he stay that long at MV? Who knows. Is he good enough to bring a State Championship to MV before 7 years? Absolutely he is! What in his coaching past would make anyone think otherwise?!

Just ask yourself -- was the coach hired at United the best available at the time? If he wasn't, then why did he get hired? But it also goes to show you that even with decent talent, that can't even save a bad coach.

Better coaching! Did anyone one think that an old retread of a failed coach was going to be successful at United? The really shameful part was that the kids had to suffer because of a stupid decision!

I am talking of greatness in the arena of coaching. To get on my greatness list, one has to earn it. Now, the character of an individual coach is judged in a different arena. One would have to talk to the people he's coached, the teachers he's taught with and the community in general. I wonder, has anyone made an effort to contact pass players and people in the community to get their opinion of him as a person. Probably have not. Because I'm sure their responses would not fit the mold of the allegations at Baylor!!

They wrote this letter because they knew they really didn't have anything on him.

Here, again, is a great comparison: This group, and I'm sure there are many clones, wants B. Kavaugh fired because "allegations" were made against him. NOT because they were true. I read an article that said Baylor DID NOT fire Briles because of cause. [Hidden Content]

From the article; "Baylor has changed its tune on former coach Art Briles, now saying he had no role in covering up sexual assaults by football players. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Friday that the university sent a letter to Briles May 23 offering support for the former coach. The letter, signed by Baylor's general counsel, Christopher W. Holmes, states, "As you speak with others regarding these issues, you can be assured you may make certain statements without fear of contradiction from Baylor based on the information currently known to us. "In particular, at this time we are unaware of any situation where you personally had contact with anyone who directly reported to you being the victim of sexual assault or that you directly discouraged the victim of an alleged sexual assault from reporting to law enforcement or University officials.
