Englebert, Hoops is still trying to figure out how humans caused the ice age to happen to begin with. And, also, trying to figure out how he can blame humans when the earth did finally warm up to come out of the ice age.

Nothing is 100% guaranteed. Let's take for instance Steve Wood at Aledo: He was on his way to another Title. But, unfortunately, and sadly for the young man, 2 extra points were missed. Making those two extra points would have gone a long way toward anther Title. But, again, no guarantees. Also, when two great coaches compete against one another, something has to give. I figured C. Thompson would have had a field day against a Wing-T team in the Title game. But early on I saw WOS may have their hands full. The other team had a great coach also! It's always an interesting topic to discuss why PN-G hasn't won a State Title since Doug Ethridge left. Hadn't ever had the talent since? I'm sure they have. Also, I'm sure with the quality of a coach such as Art Briles, Steve Wood, etc, PN-G may have had a Title this year. Again, speculation and no guarantees! But interesting on both none the less!

True, we don't know what happened. All we know for a fact is he took a school that only won 12 games in the previous 5 years and went 12-2 and one game away from the State Title. That much we do know for a fact.

Any Nazi control freak that thinks they can control global temperature, then why wouldn't they feel they could control any form of weather? Again -- humans have nothing to do with the rise and fall of earth's temperature. So therefore there's nothing humans can do to stop it either way! 5,000 years ago the Earth was in an ice age. True on the second part. The previous 5 years PN-G only a total of 12 wins. Malone comes in and wins 12 his first year. Didn't have any athletes the previous 5 years and now this one year have a bunch? Well.. You get my point? Malone did make the playoffs in his 2 years there. Would have been interesting to see what he could have done in year 3, 4, or 5.

Let's take a look at the change in verbiage concerning this scam: Again, back in the 70's it was "global cooling!" When that didn't work, the Nazi control freaks changed it to "Global Warming!" When that didn't work, these same Nazi control freaks changed it to "Climate Change!" And one of the many sad parts about it is the liberal media sycophants goes right along with it without questioning why the name changes. If anyone here thinks we can control the sun that controls the temperature then you could have controlled the storm that dumped 54 inches of rain on Nederland. And we all know that's not possible!!

Back in the late 80's, PN-G was coached, as HC, by one of the best offensive line coaches in the state of Texas, Butch Troy. Not very successful, though, as a HC. His last year, 1988, Troy went 1-8. Danny Malone came in the next year and went 12-2 and, if I recall right, was one game from playing in the State Championship. So, different coach, same bunch of kids. Was it coaching that made the difference? IMO, yes.

Oh, I agree, there are different influences that can be a distraction. But, one must remember, and you must agree -- winning solves a lot of problems!

I would venture to say you put some of the other local coaches in charge of the Mustangs the last three years and they would not be shooting for a 3-peat. I doubt the 'Stangs would have been in the first one! IMHO! BTW: Coaches have a bunch of witty sayings. Cornel would be selling himself short if he actually believed he had just a little to do with their success.

No! LOL! Like I said, would be interesting to think about. But, a Title is not worth that type money. Other things are more important.

Someone could have said the same thing about Stephenville before he arrived there! BTW: Why do you think the kids at Scarbrough are any different than the kids at Stepenville when Briles arrived there?
