1. honestly, the new bats have not much difference, this past weekend we had 3 homeruns with them in our opening series with San Jac. you hit it in the right spot like your suppose to the ball flies off almost the same. makes you a better hitter also.
 2. i say this everytime i started stretching in the bull pen when i get ready to close. and it's helped me so far. got my first win. brings the focus to me and makes me feel unstoppable!

 6. If there were any opening-day jitters or an inkling of intimidation in playing the second-ranked team in the nation, the Angelina College Roadrunners didn’t show it. The ‘Runners on Saturday swept the Gators by identical 4-1 scores, using late-inning offense, timely defense and solid pitching to start the season 2-0. Freshman K.J. Semien made his AC debut a memorable one, throwing out a runner at the plate preserve a one-run deficit in Game 1, then ending the game with a three-run, walk-off homer off the left-field scoreboard in the ninth inning of a scheduled seven-inning affair. AC pitchers Ian Gardek and Taylor Holt teamed up to no-hit the Gators through six innings, with San Jac’s only run occurring on a first-inning fielder’s choice. Gardek struck out four but walked six in his debut – one witnessed by a multitude of major league scouts on hand just to see Gardek work. “Considering how many big league scouts were watching him, I thought Ian did a good job even though his location wasn’t always where he wanted it,” AC head coach Jeff Livin said. “But he battled through it and kept them off the board after the first inning.” Gardek got plenty of defensive help: In that first inning, San Jacinto loaded the bases with one out; but ‘Runner shortstop Michael Ruiz made his first of several sparkling defensive plays, diving for a would-be single and making the flip to second to limit the Gators to a single run. “We had some times where we looked a little wobbly, but it seems that every time that happened Ruiz made a play for us and settled us down,” Livin said. Holt relieved Gardek in the fifth inning, and he, too, kept the Gator bats silent until Justin Byrd’s single in the seventh inning. In the bottom half of the inning, with AC still trailing1-0, Roadrunner catcher Tommy Henk drove in the game-tying run with a single in the bottom to score Ryan Gunhouse. And when AC right hander Jerin Spikes entered late, Semien made him a winner with a three-run blast to left. “This team reminds me a lot of the one we had a few years ago that ended up winning 40 games,” Livin said. “We hung around, hung around, and won a lot of games in the late innings. I saw that same attitude today, with the guys just battling all the way through until they could make some good things happen.” That late-inning theme reappeared in the nightcap, with the Roadrunners breaking open another 1-1 game with at three-run sixth inning after Zach Cordia tied the game with a solo homer in the second. Grant Clyde and Todd Wallace followed Semien’s single with back-to-back RBI doubles to give AC the only runs necessary for the 4-1 win and the sweep. Ryan Bonnot held the Gators to a single run before giving way to eventual winner Austin Robson. The Roadrunners will travel to Wharton on Wednesday for a doubleheader scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

When Manvel has played against decent team's, the rb's have fared well. The Lamarque back had over 300 yard's rushing against them. They will also give it up through the air. I have heard from someone who has seen both team's play that we will have our hand's full. He said if our defense can just play close to the way we played against Central then we will be fine. He said that if we pressure the qb's they become very inconsistent throwing the ball. He also said that Manvel will have a tough time stopping our offense but they do have the athlete's to stop us unlike Willis. So I look for another exciting game.
I've heard the same thing about both qb's.  When they get pressured, they lose their accuracy and it affects them mentally.
yeah thats what i told you after seeing the videos of them, get pressure on them and the quarterback makes a dumb choice. either keeps it and loses major yards, or throws in up. But just an observation
 11.
Thanks for all of the input everyone--it makes for some great discussion. I didn't realize the playing surface at Reliant was natural grass.
haha oh yeahh  it felt amazing playing on it when we played against Lamarque. It felt like you were running faster than the wind and you could plant like it was nothing
 12.
Good observations baseball10--Thanks for the report!
anytimee...heres the link if any body wants to check it out...[Hidden Content]
 13. I know its Lamarque and how fast they are. but I was watching some videos on Youtube form the Lamarque and Manvel game  and looks like they had a bunch of arms tackles and look like Lamarque passed very well against them. And also looked like the offense does not take care of the football and when the QB gets pressure on him he didnt throw it away. Just observations. We come to play on top of our game and we will bring it home! Lets go NDN's and Good Luck Dayton
Well said. One week at a time ;)
thats what he meant by that i think lol cause if we both take care of our team, we will see all purple next weekend correct??

I have never heard of it where the qb calls the penalty and walks off the yardage however. PN-G ran a decoy play last year on Nederland for a touchdown but it was the wide receiver that did the trick. PN-G only had 10 men in the huddle but obviously Nederland was thinking it was a full 11 man team. PN-G then ran one player in like he was a 12th man. Naturally a player from the huddle has to leave the field to make 11 players or so Nederland players thought. The only problem was that there were only 11 on the field and the guy running to the sidelines never left the field. He just stood about 2 feet from the sidelines like he was talking to a coach. No one covered him and he received the pass for a touchdown. Great trick play.... but they lost anyway.

nope wasnt the year before than either, thats when i played and we didnt run that...it was my sophomore year and we ran it at the Reservation  it was ummmmm the 2006 football season. It was called Hideout and we got it from WO-S. It was always fun running that haha Must have been year before last.  We won last yr.
 16. The adrenaline rush when you step out of the locker room doors and looking up and see the thousands of people in Purple and White in the stands, then walking to the teepee and everyone on the team is jumping around yelling then bust through and you hear cherokee... Only At The Reservation!

 18. Great observations...would love to see my boys from PNG go to the Region 3 finals though. If the defense comes to play and tackles in the open field against the faster teams. I can see it happening with the explosive offense we have. Going to be a great Play off games for everyone. with the upsets and close games, ready to see how all this ends. Good luck everyone
Why is that?
The field at Cardinal stadium is sunk below ground level, a north wind is blocked by the Montagne Center, and the south wind is blocked by the new field house.  At the Butch, a north or south wind is unobstructed and the field level is not sunk.  Not taking anything away from the Butch, it is a great complex and something BISD should be very proud of.
No, I really didn't know that.  I never observed those things.  You're right.  Thanks for that tidbit of info, man!
I heard the field was sinking...maybe we'll get there one day.. ;D
made me laugh for a good couple minutes...good one hahaha  ;)
