  1. If if if!!!  Well if Kountze didn't have 7 players sick all week and if D. Harper played 4 quarters not just 3 and if it had rained more and so on ....  I hated to hear about that QB going down he is a special player and no doubt it would have been a closer ballgame but the W would have still been with the Lions!  This is a great group of players and coaches.
  2. Kountze did it right to night.  Not a pretty win but a show of heart and guts.  The guys play hard every down.  No quit!  Keep it up.
  3. Coach Hodges is a great man. I enjoyed getting to know him and not only was I pleased to have my son play for him ...as I told him on several occasions "Coach I'd play for you!" Good luck Coach Hodges. As far as the program going forward...having played my high school ball in Kountze I am a big fan. Enjoy watching those boys play on Friday nights....always will. Who ever comes in should been given a fair chance to BUILD a winner and folks that gonna take TIME. So let's fill the stands every game home or away and support the LIONS! Also I hope we keep the rest of the coaching crew.
  4. I am very proud of my LIONS. All year they have fought hard. We seem to never gets the breaks that hapens in a game. But the team never ever quit fight til the last second of the game. As far as EC they had a great game plan. They are well coach. Keep the heads up LIONS! We got one more game to play.
  5. I was at this game and it was a good hard hitting football game. Buna and Kountze both played well. I was glad to see Kountze continue to fight back during the game. The refs should be fired they were unorganized, slow (physically and mentally) and lazy. What they did was not to the Kountze team it was to the game of football....they disrespected it. I am tired of this group (seen them last year) getting away with this type of poor preformance. If the tables were turned and Buna lost the game they would have protested because the refs moved the chains too early!!!!!!!!!!! So get off the high horse coog fans!!!! Unlike some of you on here i actually played the game of football and i know a ref does not win or lose the game but I worked hard every week just like those players last friday night from both teams did and to have scrub refs show up and not do their job makes me sick. I think those refs should be banned from even watching football on tv let alone calling it. But it is not up to Buna to make this happen. It was not Buna's fault this happened. But it happened and should be dealt with soon. I love to watch high school football and will continue to do so, I hope the refs just do their job. Is that too much to ask?
  6. Both teams should match up well. I have not seen Evadale play this year so it is hard for me to know if they are as fast as Kountze. Should be a close game and a good one as well. Kountze-32 Evadale 28.
  7. The LIONS pull the upset tonight! This team is not the big physically nor do they 40+ players but you can not measure heart by height, weight or # of players. Great job by the players and coaches. The officials were horrible! The LIONS looking good at 2-0. This DAD is very proud of #85.
  8. Close game tonight at Lion's Stadium Woodville tried to come back in the 2nd half but the Lions' D stopped them when it counted. 1-0 a good start!
  9. A Very Close Game!
  10. Well the Lions played a great game tonight...they NEVER stopped FIGHTING. The whole town is proud of them. Special thanks to our Seniors who played their final home game. One more to go! "KEEP FIGHTING"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Just got home from Anahuac vs Kountze game....wet conditions...good game...Kountze 2-0 in District. Great job Lions.
  12. Congrats to the Raiders but too early for upset of the year.
  13. Great game tonight as thw Warren Warriors and Kountze Lions fought til the last seconds. I was very proud to see big #74 on the side lines for the LIONS. I was also glad to see a great game without any dirty shots that would cost any player the chance to play another night. So hats off the the Warren Warriors football team. As for the home town boys I am proud that they never quit no matter the odds. GOOD LUCK LIONS!
