TITLE IX !! If they can't get any action from the AD and the Super, then they need to make an appointment to visit the School Board ! The School Board has the power to make some changes. It's hard to believe that the AD and the Super both told them they only cared about Football !! I mean, I'm sure it's like that at most schools in the area, but to come right out and admit it is hard to believe.

If they are recruiting Pickering, maybe they ought to try her teammate and try to get Wilson as well. If they are going to be able to compete and fill the stands for games they are going to have to recruit local talent and as bad as most Orangefield people hate it they also need to talk to their Girls Coach and get her to move to Lamar.

A Cheerleader ??? ??? I thought I saw her in a softball uniform a couple of weeks ago.

I can tell you one thing, I'm glad ya'll aren't in our 4A District !! You've already beaten the two teams that are expected to win the district and LCM as well. You and your team have plenty of respect from the LCM crowd ! You have a very talented group of girls that work hard. Bring back home another TAPPS State Championship! By the way, where did you find your assistant coach at ?? BreakerCoach won't even let him step on the field with his team.

Yep, well I had too many eyes watching last night. And with softball around the corner, I wanted to make sure I don't have to miss any games. I love giving the Softball Umpires heck!! Of course they don't have a whistle to suck on !

AT least they took control of the final 40 seconds ! That's better than some games I've seen this year ! ;D

Another pretty good called game was the LCM vs Lumberton game at LCM when they actually pulled someone out of the stands, from the Lumberton crowd to help the one official call. That game stayed under controll all game. This is the worst year I have ever seen in girls basketball for officials. It's getting to where the team that is the roughest will be the team to win, not the team that can shoot and play good "D". Defense now consists of fouling someone as hard as you can without getting a whistle blown! The team that can foul the most will win. I now the Ref's have a tough job, but, my gosh if you are going to referee, use the dad gum whistle ! After all it is a whistle and not a pacifier! You have to blow in it, not suck on it. If you start a game off blowing the whistle, the teams will adjust to the calling and start playing real basketball, otherwise it's football without pads ! Ok, I'm through now ! ;D Good Luck to all the Play-off bound teams and someone from this area bring home the State Championship !!

WOW !!! What a ROUGH GAME!! I think it could have been played just as clean if there wouldn't have been any referees. That was entirely too rough for a basketball game. I hope the Vidor player that got hit in the nose is OK and nothing is broken. I'm surprised that she was the only one that had to leave with an injury ! The Lady Bears ended the season on a good note with a win and that will be something to build on for next year. Things look bright for LCM in the near future with so many underclassmen playing this year. As for the Seniors, you ladies should be proud of what you accomplished this year. You made some big improvements from previous years and you have helped get something started for LCM. We will miss all of you ! Miss Taylor Denton, Miss Allison Clary, and Miss Brittany Twiner, I will miss ya'll next year and I wish all of you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do after you graduate ! There's no doubt whatever you do you will be successful ! Oh one more thing, TWINER, SHOOOOOTTTT!!!!!!!

To go back to a thread on Lumberton Baseball a while back, I noticed Lumberton ball players in the stands at the last girls home basketball game and they were all wearing the SAME PRACTICE UNIFORMS. Whats up with that. I thought ya'll ran a coach away because he made them all dress alike ??

CC agrees with you on that one. That was the dumbest move that could have been made ! And they are paying for it. But you're correct in the fact that this board is for opinions and everyone has their own. I stated mine. It's up to everyone else to state theirs. I do know there are alot more girls out there that should be mentioned other than the two that were put on the poll. I for one am sticking with Pickering.

Hopefully for LCM it's GROWING PAINS and they will mature and get better for next year. I know Coach Ellerbee will keep working them until they are playing some good ball.

I don't pick either one of these. I pick Chelsie Pickering from Lumberton. Best ALL AROUND player in the arrea. She can do it all. She may not be the high scorer of a game, but you can bet if she's not she is the one that got all the assists to the high point scorer. And her defense is totally awesome. Plus she is the leader of her team. All these things make her the best overall ! Brittney Scott and D. Kellum are great scorers but do they have the complete game that Chelsie has ?? I don't think they do.
