Ok kountze played a good game but that was really close for a 5-7 team against a 10-2 team. If they only won that game by 11 will they be able to handle EC tomorrow.

If they choose not to play the game HJ will win by forfeit since HJ beat Silsbee by more points than Silsbee beat HJ

I realize you are just a tad biased towards this team, and i do agree they were a great 3A team................But, they werent the end all be all to basketball as so many HJ fans think. First, you claim they were the greatest 3A team ever. Thats a bold statement that can NEVER be supported as fact for obvious reasons. Navasota(1990-undefeated and destroyed playoff competition), Sweeney(3 titles in 4 years), Clarksville(choose a year), Mexia(2 titles in 3 years), Gainsville(2002-athletes not seen at 3A level often), SA Cole(had a guy name Shaq) and even Kountze(2004) were all great 3A teams that would need to be included in the argument. Secondly, you claim they HJ had the best point guard AND the two best big men in the ENTIRE state. Come on, you being serious? Little 3A Hardin Jefferson had 3 players that were the best at their position in the whole state. I am pretty sure no team in Texas, ever, can claim that feat(only exception maybe would be Willowridge in 2001). But i guess you probably think HJ 91 could be them too, right? Well, just from memory here are a few players that played in 90-91 that you claim were not as good as your HJ players: Greg Ostertag(say what you will about him, but he made it to the league and carved out a decent career) Jason Sasser(saw time in the league as well) Troy House(one of the best small school players ever, would have started for HJ) Greg Austin(manchild for Troup) Bobby Taylor(NFL, but could play some hoop) Derrick Battie(saw time in the league as well) Not mention FW Dunbar had a couple of kids go big time D1 that year also. Finally, i dont mean to call you out and i understand your support for that HJ team. They were a great team, ONE of the best 3A teams ever. HJ has a GREAT program and history, but SOME HJ fans take being a homer to the extreme. Just like proclaiming a certain player last year as "best guard in the state", "best player in the area", "oh, he's definately going D1", etc. etc. etc. Guess what, they were wrong. Though he was/is a heck of a player. Thats all, off my rant. Ok you made a good point and all and i can tell you really know what youre takin about and i give you props for that but the 04 Kountze team would have been demolished by any team you just mentioned them with

The principal from silsbee called the principal from HJ and said he might not want to play the game because he thinks a riot will break out.

exactly finally somebody notices stuff like that we are in the top 10 for a reason and yeah we r gonna lose sometimes but when it comes to the silsbee and hj games most of the time we come out on top yeah so we lost to yall by 2 pts. but who knocked silsbee out of the playoffs last year? HJ

Give H-J another 2 years and our numbers will rocket up with our new school being built more people will be moving to this area so our numbers should grow significantly

does it matter if he is from hj anyway we whipped yalls ass in a scrimmage game and if we got a chance to we would do it again

HJ is starting off strong , picking up where they left off last year but kountze hasnt got rolling yet who do you think will end up better when its all said and done?

OK i play for hj and we played both of these teams we beat cleveland 22-14 and lost to k-ville 52-16 so i know how well both of these teams play and how dominating k-ville can be when they are playing at their peak so im gonaa go with k-ville by 40

Yeah maybe Giddings does just have fitzhenry but they have other weapons if they didnt they wouldnt have made it to the playoffs one guy can get a team to the playoffs every player on their team has to have the dedication and want, and it looks as if their players do so dont just try to stop him because i know from experience against EC if you try to stop one player the rest will run all over you
