No Republican candidate has a chance to get the minority vote. They can only hope to get a small percentage. Why minorities vote monolithically is a mystery to me. The Democrats know they have the minority vote in their pocket no matter what they do.
-
No, you said we should focus on U.S. vs U.S. crime and that immigrants and radicals Muslims were not newsworthy because the percentages of getting killed by them was less than by another U.S. citizen. I never said anything about percentages changing. I used an analogy to point out that even though you are less likely to be killed by a sniper than another vehicle, the sniper story is more newsworthy. Same with radical muslims. Thus, refuting your point. And the last time I heard about a sniper on I-10 was about a year ago.
-
Let me get this straight. If a sniper is shooting at random cars on I-10, you would be perfectly fine with the cops saying..."Don't worry about that sniper because you are more likely to be killed by another driver".

This is exactly why Ted Cruz is hated in the Senate. The party leaders try to whip him into shape and he tells them to shove it up their... If we had 99 more Senators like him, regardless of party affiliation, we wouldn't need to be talking about term limits.

Hillary has zero ethics. She was fired by a lawyer for unethical practices. The liberals know they can get away with almost anything because they have the minority vote in their pocket no matter what they do. All they have to worry about is making sure they don't screw up enough to fire up the white voters to show up in high numbers. And the white voters capitulated in the last two elections.

I fully agree with your assessment TVC, but I think one of the things that people are fed up with is the alliances that are present in Congress. Congressmen tell other Congressmen "You vote for my crappy bill and I will vote for your crappy bill." And you have to vote (or not vote) for a bill because of your party affiliation, not your conscience. Senior party leaders have too much power over the other party members. Term limits will reduce the need to always vote along party lines. That is the way I think many look at term limits. Whether or not it would be effective...I have no clue. Term limits would reduce the amount of time Congressmen need to go out campaigning. I think this would be a bad thing. The more time they spend out of office the better. I wish they would just meet for one month a year.

I feel the same way, but I'm voting for Trump as a vote against Hillary.

I have and like both of these songs, but wouldn't consider them Classical. Like you, I know and like a bunch of classical songs but can't name the song titles (other than some of the major ones). It's amazing how many Classical songs have been used in movies, cartoons and commercials over the years.
-
I have trouble remembering the titles of Classical songs, but here's a few of my favorites that I can remember the title: O Fortuna - Carl Orff (thanks Ozzy) Ride Of The Valkyries - Wagner Fur Elise -Beethoven Barber Of Seville - Rossini (always brings back memories of Bugs Bunny)

If I can pick a ten year span I'll take the late 60s through the early 70s. If I have to pick a decade though I will take the 70s.

Just a few off of the top of my head... Stop, Stop, Stop - The Hollies Dixie Chicken - Little Feat (the live version off of "Waiting For Columbus" is my favorite version) Tell Mama - Savoy Brown (who would later morph into Foghat) 20th Century Boy - T.Rex Fat Bottom Girls - Queen Kashmir - Led Zeppelin The Zoo - The Scorpions Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) - The Beatles Up On Cripple Creek - The Band Crime Of The Century - Supertramp South Side Of The Sky - Yes Fearless - Pink Floyd Shapes Of Things - The Yardbirds Burn Down The Mission - Elton John Tin Soldier Man, 20th Century Man, Lola - The Kinks (couldn't make up my mind which to list, so I listed all three) The Man Who Sold The World - David Bowie I could go on and on and on.

Call Me The Breeze is a song written and performed by J.J. Cale. Skynyrd remade the song, and did a damn good job of it. One of my favorites. If you haven't already, take a listen to J.J. Cale's original version. J.J. Cale also wrote Cocaine, After Midnight (both remade by Eric Clapton) and Crazy Mama (remade by many artists).

Bring It On Home To Me - Sam Cooke

They've been posted in this forum. They've been shown on every news outlet in America. A Republican super Pac is running a commercial showing them daily. If you haven't seen them, I don't know what to tell you. A simple google search should give you all the info. And yes, Right! It is "straight out." I find it extraordinarily incomprehensible that anyone has not seen Comey's testimony, especially the answers to Trey Gowdy's questions. This is almost akin to me saying 1 + 1 = 2 and you asking me to prove it.

Soros called. Says he wants his money back. Says he's already wasted too much money on incompetence.

Hillary, who champions herself as fighting for woman, won't select a woman as a running mate. I guess Elizabeth Warren has too much estrogen to satisfy her. She had to go with an angry old white male. So much for the "party of diversity". She knows she won't lose the minority vote because they will vote lock, stock, and barrel for anyone with a "D" behind their name.
-
Wow. Your comprehension skills are sorely lacking. Comey straight out said she committed illegal acts. This was reported by everyone. Have you ever heard of the term "tunnel vision".
-
Sort of like the "Yes we can, Yes we can" chant that the Democrat congressmen are so fond of.
-
It appears that you didn't give much thought when making this statement. (Seems I've heard this statement before.)

For threatening the security of the United States of America!

He might should have stayed home. But then he would have to face the wrath of pundits saying you broke your word (pledge), just as they are doing to Kasich and Bush. I didn't hear anywhere in Cruz's speech of him defending himself against Trump's personal attacks on Cruz himself and Cruz's family. I think I would have. That's why I think Cruz showed great restraint.
-
I quit watching after the audience booed Cruz. When I was watching Cruz's speech I was thinking along the same lines as Newt...Cruz would suggest voting for Trump without actually saying the words, by pointing out the consequences of not voting for him. Which is exactly how I and Newt interpreted his remarks. But that is not the way the crowd interpreted it. That showed me the pettiness of the crowd. I really don't think Cruz is thin skinned at all. I think anyone will fight back against someone attacking your family, especially when based on fact less lies. I think Cruz showed great restraint.
-
If he didn't show then he would be ostracized just like Kasich and Bush. (Rock and a hard place.) I actually think the booing made the Trump fans look petty. I didn't hear anything in his speech negative towards Trump. Me personally I would have attacked Hillary and concentrated on the consequences of electing her, without saying "Vote for Trump". He might have wanted to do just that, but was scheduled on the wrong day. (The "attack Hillary" day was the day before.) I don't know if he was given free reign to deliver any speech he wanted, but in my opinion he showed great restraint and proper congeniality. My opinion of Cruz went up. My opinion of the Trump fans in the audience went way down.
-
I thought Cruz was way more congenial than I would have been. To give a speech at the RNC after all of what Trump did to him in the Primaries takes guts. If he would have continually called me a liar, went after my wife, went after my father and tried to sabotage my marriage by saying I was unfaithful, my instinct would have been to sabotage him at the RNC. But Cruz took the high road and gave a speech in spite of all that. Kasich couldn't even bring himself to do that, even though the convention is in his home state and he received far less of Trump's childish attacks. If a childish piece of crap of a little man is dating your daughter, constantly insulting you, tells lies about you and your whole family, then convinces your daughter to marry him and your loving daughter asks you to give a toast during the wedding ceremony, what toast would you give? (Sorry for the run-on sentence. I'm tired and I don't feel like fixing it.) I would have to be a far bigger man than I am to give a congenial speech that approached the one Cruz gave Trump.

Hillary has Michael Brown's mother speaking at the DNC
Englebert replied to team first's topic in Political Forum
According to the news outlets she tunes into, yes.
