A group of friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck. "Where's Henry?" the others asked. "Henry had a stroke o' some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail," the successful hunter replied. "You left Henry layin' out there and carried the deer back?" they inquired. "A tough call," nodded the hunter. "But I figured no one's gonna steal Henry!"

SCOTUS Rules Domestic Abusers Can Lose Gun Ownership Rights
Englebert replied to Hagar's topic in Political Forum
Some lawmakers have already proposed that you have to give up your fourth amendment right in order to exercise your second amendment right. I've heard about these proposals on several occasions. Here's a couple of links about the Washington State proposal. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] (I picked the first two links that came up on a Bing search. There are many links about this story from many different sources.) -
SCOTUS Rules Domestic Abusers Can Lose Gun Ownership Rights

If a person is considered dangerous enough to take away their second amendment right, shouldn't the cops have unfettered access to their home to make sure they are complying with the "no gun" order? After all, if a person chooses to ignore the law and assault another person, do you think he would comply with the law that says he can't own a gun? Why is the fourth amendment so much more sacred than the second? The majority of wife beaters that turn into wife killers don't use a gun. The majority of women who have been beaten and decide to defend themselves turn to a gun for self-defense. If two kids get into a fist-fight (no gun used, brandished or even present), and the cops charge them with assault, should they lose their second amendment rights? Stuff like this is exactly what the anti-gun people want. They are pushing for more and more laws that take away your second amendment right, regardless of whether a gun was involved or not. And they will keep pushing until a traffic ticket will get you on the "No Gun" list. This is why they are pushing so hard for background checks. Once background checks are accepted as a pre-requisite to own a gun, they will then start adding rules to these background checks until even the Pope will not qualify to own a gun. I do think that a person convicted of a crime who uses a gun in the commission of that crime should lose their right to own a gun for the full term of their sentence. I also think that anyone who uses a gun while committing a crime can receive a stiffer sentence. I used the term "can receive" because I don't think that someone who shoots someone should receive a stiffer sentence than a person who beats someone to death with a baseball bat. Once the person completes their sentence (including probation) they should have all of their rights, including their second amendment right, fully restored. -

Should wife beaters be allowed to vote? Should wife beaters be subject to warrantless search and seizures? -
Really? You actually think there are only "several" studies pertaining to this subject matter. How many do you consider several?

I'm not surprised.

FIFY But according to Bluedove Republicans are just a bunch of paranoid sheeple being led by the nose. I can't even imagine what the leftist mainstream media would do if Trump had all of these mysterious deaths in his past.

Three women die together in an accident and go to Heaven! When they get there, St. Peter says, 'We only have one rule here in Heaven: Don't step on the ducks!' So they enter Heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place...It is almost impossible not to step on a duck. And although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one. Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw. St. Peter chains them together and says, 'Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!' The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck. And along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing. With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman. The third woman has observed all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps... She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, But one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on ...tall, long eyelashes, muscular! St. Peter chains them together without saying a word. The happy woman says, 'I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?' The guy says, 'I don't know about you, but I stepped on a Duck.....

So you are saying that the Pope profiles people? Go on, admit it. The Pope has a bad case of stereotyping. He might even think that all radical Muslims are out to kill the Infidels.

I hope I'm not duplicating an already posted link. If so, it should be posted again.

There's way more than several, and I've read a ton of them.

So that's what Nero was doing while Rome burned...he was just trying to keep his citizens calm. And I always thought his fiddling (actually a myth) was because of his callousness and indifference, but I now see it shows his compassion for his people. I guess what it really shows is that different people can look at the same scenarios and draw completely different conclusions. And I guess since I will never use a "D" to identify my party affiliation, this means I flip-flopped instead of evolving.

I assume you are referring to the Hillary camp. You know, the originators of the "Birther" movement.

It amazes me how Progressives try to paint the Right with their broad brush, while at the same time accusing the Right of painting the Left with a broad brush. Hypocritical is not a strong enough word to describe it. I really don't know what is worse, the fact that the writer can publish something so juvenile or the fact that many Liberals believe this garbage.

A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, "I'd like to buy some cyanide." The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The lady replied, "I need it to poison my husband." The pharmacist's eyes got big and he explained, "Lord have mercy! I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband, that's against the law! I'll lose my license! They'll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!" The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and said, "You didn't tell me you had a prescription."

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex standing in the foyer of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names and small American flags mounted on either side of it. The six-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly, "Good morning, Alex." "Good morning Pastor," he replied, still focused on the plaque. "Pastor, what is this?" The pastor said, "Well son, it's a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service." Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally, little Alex's voice, barely audible and trembling with fear asked, "Which service, the 8:00 or the 10:30?"

All the Big12 had to do to get at least one representative in the Championship Series was win one game in the last five. They went 0-5. Still better than the SEC (and ACC) though.

I went way out of my way one time just to try Hill Country Cupboard. A friend raved about it so I figured I would try it. I was not disappointed. In fact, I might just have to plan a little trip to go back.

A man was sunbathing naked at the beach. For the sake of civility, and to keep it from getting sunburned, he had a hat over his privates. A woman walks past and says, snickering, "If you were a gentleman you'd lift your hat when a lady walks by." He raised an eyebrow and replied, "If you were better looking it would lift itself."

This policeman was being cross-examined by a defense attorney during a felony trial. The lawyer was trying to undermine the police officer's credibility... Q: 'Officer, did you see my client fleeing the scene?' A: 'No sir. But I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender, running several blocks away.' Q: 'Officer -- who provided this description?' A: 'The officer who responded to the scene.' Q: 'A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?' A: 'Yes sir. With my life.' Q: 'With your life? Let me ask you this then, Officer. Do you have a room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily duties?' A: 'Yes sir, we do!' Q: 'And do you have a locker in the room?' A: 'Yes sir, I do.' Q: 'And do you have a lock on your locker?' A: 'Yes sir.' Q: 'Now why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with these same officers?' A: 'You see, sir -- we share the building with the court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.'

I will start it: SEC ession, SEC ession, SEC ession. (Sounds like a chant on a different forum.)

I'm kind of curious of why you think I even have a side. I guess the closest description I can give myself would be anti-liberal progressive. That is not the same as traditionalist. That is not Republican. That is not Libertarian. That is not Democrat. I will vote for Trump because I know he is better for the country than Hillary. You can try to pigeon-hole me into one of your preconceived notions if you like, it doesn't really bother me. And like Bullets, I will also call it like it is. Just because you might not like it or agree with it doesn't make it false.

I'll bet the number of people leaving the U.S. is thousands of times less than the number of people moving in.

I agree with you. Building a wall is not racist. (I don't believe Trump is going to build it, but I'm not convinced he won't try.) The Left has stated over and over and over that Trump is racist, and when I ask to be given examples of his racism, this one seems to always be included. And it's predictable how the Leftist media paints pretty much every Republican politician as racist (and the Republican party in general). So much so that true racists can hide behind the avalanche of unfounded racist accusations.
