6. "High school players brutally beaten for showing up other team" won't sell as many papers as the headline "High school players brutally beaten for Tebowing".
 7.
Calallen's never beaten a Reg 3 team.  LM turned them back numerous times.  WO-S got them once.  Can't see why Manvel doesn't beat them as well
You're almost correct. Calallen beat Brenham (Reg 3) in the Semis in 2005. They've lost every other time though. I will have to go with Manvel in this one.
 8. The picture says it all. The officials made the correct call.
 9.
If Jonathan Gray played all 4 quarters he'd probably already have the record.  Everytime I read about him it talks about him being very limited in the 2nd half.  I know he has to stay healthy, but that is hurting his chances at records.
From the articles I read on Kenneth Hall, he sat out on offense the entire 2nd half of most of his games. He played both offense and defense. I think they played a 10 game schedule (not sure), but Class B (now 1A) only played two playoff games back then.

You deserve it by winning more district games. I'm not a fan of 4 teams in the playoffs in a district with 8 teams. It teaches mediocrity. Three should be the max , IMO, in a district with 8 teams, and 2 teams with a 6 team district. Sure it's great that Ozen is doing well, but I bet there are not many other 4th place teams still in the playoffs. It's more the exception than the rule. Growing up, I can never remember being excited in the 100m dash when I finished in 4th place out of 8 runners.
Fellas, I don't think the issue is sending so many teams. It's the fact that Texas has so many kids in school it's hard demographically to make districts that are fair travel and otherwise to all the teams. It's either we take 4A and make two divisions out of it or we make 4A or add more As on the top end (7A?) and the teams travel across the state according to their size. There are a heck of a lot more kids and schools now than there were in the 70s when I was a kid. It's no more unrealistic now than when we (Vidor) had to play in a 5A district in the 90s when we had the same number of kids as PNG or Nederland. We played in 4 team districts in the 70s. Simple math.
I understand where you're coming from with travel and all, but back when you and I played, only the best team (s) made it to the playoffs, and it made it so that every game in district was important. Football (and sports in general) teach kids how to approach life. For example, I've observed a lot of young kids who want to work a 30 hour week and get paid a 40 hour week. Just look at the direction our country is going. I know AAW, we are suppose to discuss this in the political forum-sorry.  8) For me, it's more about the bigger picture...Again, JMO. 14. Why did the UIL let any team from 18-4a into the playoffs? Even their district champion could not win a bi-district game. All four of them lost in the first round. Is this fair to district 24-4a who could have had their 5th and 6th place team in? I wonder if Livingston, LCM, Central or Lumberton could have won a playoff game or two. We need to change the playoffs to where only deserving teams get in. How do we do that?
 15. Shouldn't 5 teams go from each district? 24-4a has a pretty good 5th place team that did not make the playoffs. That is certainly not fair considering they could have beat half of the teams that made the playoffs. How about 6 teams. Hell, let's put'em all in, even if you only have one district win. Trophies for everyone.

 19.
I just wondered why they would add Deer Park, and not keep them in the District with the Pasadena Schools.  Well, with only 6 teams in a district, and 4 making the playoffs, I guess adding another team that's not too far away, makes sense.  Also, I just checked, and every 5A district in the State has at least 7 teams.  I think most of them have 8, and 1 had 9 teams.  District 23-5A, the Fort Bend Schools, would have had 10 teams, except now it looks like Willowridge and Marshall have dropped to 4A.
When the UIL first started taking 4 playoff teams from each district in 5A, they swore that they would make sure that every 5A district had 8 or more teams. It didn't take them long to break that promise.
 20.
Look, all this talk about qb's is really not the major issue. You need to be more concerned about your opponent this Friday night. ;)
I don't think they're concerned about the opponent. After all, they've already attached a poll on here about how they're gonna do in the playoffs (they need to win just to make the playoffs).
 21. I changed it back. I was right the first time. If Silsbee, HF and Orangefield all end up 2-3, Orangefield is +6 and HF is -14. Even if HF beats Silsbee by the max (+18), they would still only be +4 while Orangefield is +6. That gives Orangefield the last spot.
 22. Your right. Thank you. I think it's fixed now. It's late and I'm tending not to see the numbers correctly. Check it now.
 23.
Ya, that's probably the hardest one to break.  Some crazy #'s on there.
The article says the 35 INT's happened in 1956.  I didn't know they threw the ball in the 50's.  ;D
That's probably why they didn't.
I remember reading an article a few years ago talking about the explosion of the passing game in football in the 1950s. The article was saying that the "Run and Shoot" was originally started in the 50s. I can't remember if it was talking about Pro, College, High School or all of football though.
