You have witnessed a party that went after a political rival's administration personnel, jailing and bankrupting them. You have witnessed a party that went directly after their political rival, trying to jail and bankrupt him. You have witnessed top level government agents target social media to suppress information about their political rival. And you say Trump is a threat to democracy? How sad.
