Way to go Bears.  Its great to see you guys doing so well.  I am always rooting for you guys except when you play the Pirates.  I saw the news coverage last night from yalls game and all I can say you made us all proud watching you guys run out onto the field with the Mustangs.  :'(  Best of luck for the rest of the season.  You all are a class act over there. Way to go.

I wonder how the lineman that quit would feel if he had gotten injured and had a guy fill in for him, then come back to be re-inserted into the lineup and have a kid at a totally different position tell him that his backup was better and he should not get to play? It's almost an unwritten rule in sports that you do not lose your starting position due to injury. [b]Look at the Eagles currently. Andy Reid is sticking with his starter.[/b][/quote] I dont know if I would use that comparison anymore, look at what the Eagles just did.  That being said, I do not have a dog in this fight either but if the kids on the team speak up and voice their concerns to the coach, that shows signs of leadership.  If the letter from the player to the paper explaining his side of the story are true then there are some serious issues here.  I do think the coach has the final say on how his program runs and not the kids.  Its his head on the line anyway.  Best of luck to the player that tranfered and to the Dogs this season.

Great video Kerry.   I dont know how to express how I feel.  My oldest son left for college a couple of weeks ago (you know him really well) and all I can remember after getting home from dropping him off, going to his empty still messy room and feeling like a part of me was missing.  I keep thinking about that and how the Garrett family is doing the same thing except Reggie is not coming home.  I tear up everytime I think about it and wish there was something I could do to help. But I know there is really nothing that I can do to make that empty pain go away for the Garrett family.  I will continue to pray for them and the WOS community and team.  God bless all of you and I am so sorry for your loss.   Your Pirate family

But, I never forgot our conversation and how amazed I was at how a 10 year old knew so well what he loved and wanted to do. It was not until tonight that our Lord revealed to me the purpose of that conversation and why it has stuck with me for so long. That boy's name was Reggie Garrett. Great student, great kid, friend, role model and athlete. I cannot understand why the things that happened tonight happened and my heart is broken into a million pieces for his family, friends and this community. I know God has a plan and as hard as it is right now I will keep my faith in that. I also thank God for that night and the pleasure it was to talk with that young man the way we did. He was special and even though our Lord saw fit to call him home early, I have no doubt that he took him doing what he loved most in this world. I write this with a heavy heart and I cannot stop the tears. But, I feel like God is telling me to let the family know of his words and how he felt about what he was doing when he was called home. I know there is nothing that can ease the pain right now, but in time I pray that the words he told me so many years ago will bring some comfort to his mother and father.
