  1. So who beside Williams has applied? Since Hancock hasn't gone for it, I guess I'm hoping Williams gets it now.
  2. Sounds like Ira, although he seems to have mellowed out a bit these past few years.
  3. I think I'm pulling for Hancock. He's got a good resume and ties to the area. First year is going to be kind of rough for whoever gets the job, but it won't last. Hopefully Tiger fans won't overreact to how next season is likely to play out and show a little patience.
  4. With the exception of his freshman year, Payton has always been on weak Silsbee teams relatively speaking. He had to be Lebron every game in Jr High. It's just bad timing of when he came up. You wonder where his little bro will now play when he comes up. I say go get that ring at United now. No hate. It is what it is 🤷‍♂️
  5. I wouldn't overreact to this. Silsbee may have 4 or 5 kids that'll go straight to varsity in 27. Assuming they all stick together. They just need to nail it with this new coaching hire and all will be set. Next year might be rough though.
  6. Well it's gonna be an interesting year next season. Silsbee will have a new coach and one of the weakest Tiger rosters seen in a while. It might not be a bad idea to punch down or at their own body weight for just a little bit.
  7. That's one reason I support Jacob. Everybody knows what they're getting with him. I remember when Silsbee used to beat up on Kelly and Beaumont Legacy to name a few schools. With Jacob the Tigers will still play anybody anywhere, even if we ain't favored to get a W. I'm not sure what Hancock's philosophy is with scheduling.
  8. The thing about the Westwood coach is would this be a long term hire? Yeah, it'd be great for Tiger basketball for the next few years. If Silsbee keeps going D2, who's beating them? I think Jacob would be long term if he's ready. Him or Hancock. Either way, Tiger basketball will be in good hands.
  9. I think the younger Coach Brooks or Joubert will be in the running. Silsbee should have a really good class of kids coming in 2027 for them to start with.
  10. I can't really see him doing it. Could be wrong though. I've got a few ideas, but it's just pure speculation.
  11. There's lots of question marks going in to next year. It's simply too early to say how things are going to play out. Next year could be the weakest Tiger season in a while, or they might be about as good as this year.
  12. If the roster I'm looking at is the correct one, Wheatley has 11 seniors on their team, including their best players. I'm not sure how us Tiger fans should feel. Do we want the team that beat us to win state, knowing if we'd just made a few free throws it could have been us, or do we want to see them lose?
  13. Somebody tell Lance to hit the weight room. He's our big man now. We need him for next year.
  14. 8th grade is solid, JV has one or two kids we might can get something out of. Cartwright will be a senior next year. Starting line up should be: Jones Cardinalli Chaison Johnson Arline All my very early opinion, of course.
  15. It's going to hurt. We really need our big freshman to have a good off season and be ready to start next year. He needs to hit the weight room and get stronger and faster. We've got another kid with decent size on JV. Hopefully he can fill in for Boulwen. We should have good shooters (not that it mattered tonight) in Jones, Cardinalli, and Arline, plus maybe one or two more. The real fun should start when next year's 8th graders make it to high school. So long as they all stay together and continue to develop, we'll be set up really nice.
