JV Silsbee - 61 Center - 52 Tigers were leading by 20 most the game. -
Silsbee vs. Cuero, 4A State Semifinal

Long sustaining drives that chew up the clock is what Silsbee needs. Keep their offense off the field. They can't beat you if they hardly have the ball. Can our line push them around enough is the question. -
Well if anything Mcgrue should be well rested for this game. He's gonna need to be. One thing that was almost immediately noticeable when watching Longview and Westfield were the size and physicality of these teams when compared to West Brook. Those boys were hitting each other like someone owed them money or slapped their mamas. It's gonna be like that when playing Westlake's defense this week. If there's anything to be hopeful about, it's that Westlake comes from a weaker region than West Brook. I don't know if they've seen a QB like Elia or not. Hopefully the West Brook offense can light them up a few times.

Center Vs Silsbee- MONDAY DEC 10

Silsbee ain't firing on cylinders yet. Game may be a little closer than some think. JV starts about 6, I'm guessing? Gonna be the first game I go to this year. -
If their roster on Max Preps is accurate, I count 12 seniors on their team this year.

Beaumont West Brook 31 Cypress Creek 21/FINAL

Yeah. Westlake QB, starting center and running back are done. I think a few big plays from Elia or Mcgrew could be enough to give Brook the edge. Gotta be honest though. From what I seen today out of Longview, WB will be big underdogs if they make it and play. -
All of them if we win state. Will likely play Pleasant Groove if we make it. Probably be the underdog.

Two more games to win. Wonder what the odds are now. Kinda wish I had seen this improved West Brook D to make a better assessment, -

Yes. Westfield's defense is legit. Offense sucks. -

I almost fainted when I read that lol. The one game I don't watch. Watching Westfield and Longview instead. -
Gonna have to Texan Live this, I guess. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I wish I was 25 minutes away from this game like it should be. Anyways......GO TIGERS!!!

100 - 0 Newton....if they wanted it to be Newton's biggest challenge this playoff run will be staying awake till they get their second trophy.
-
What's funny is the two teams that would likely murder West Brook are playing each other this week. Maybe Longview and Spring Westfield with obliterate each other when they play this week also.
-
It's now confirmed that Westlake's starting QB, all-state center and top running back are out for the season. So win this game. Maybe there is a chance to go further if you do.

On the subject of split classifications. Let's face it: You're ducking a lot of good teams when you drop down to 4AD2. No Carthage, Argyle, Liberty Hill, La Vega, Melissa, Celina, etc. If anyone knows about getting sacrificed to Carthage on a regular basis in the playoffs, it's Silsbee fans lol. 4AD1 is loaded with good teams when you look at the playoff brackets. Wish the lower classes would combine. Not sure it would work in 6A though. You'd have schools 3 times the size of some other schools playing each other.

I remember when Silsbee did have size. They had three 6`6 kids on a team one year, if I remember correctly. Didn't get a ring. Think they lost to HJ to go to state, but my memory is fuzzy on this. Had one 6`10 for a while that they didn't do much with. No ring. So long as they stay in 4A they'll be big enough with what they have. Next year is what will be interesting.

Silsbee was playing like hot garbage the last time these teams played. Almost losing to HF did something to them. It's awakened the beast from within. They've been mauling teams ever since. Sorta like how the Houston Texans can never beat the Patriots, I'm afraid WOS gets the win if I'm being honest. Hoping for a different result though.

Huntsville with a pick 6.
-
You gotta take what these Marshall announcers say with a grain of salt. Huntsville winning 28 - 21.

Final Score: Wagner - 71 Carter - 67

Carter leads Wagner by 6 at halftime. Man it's crazy to think how one 3 point basket changed this whole tournament for Silsbee.
