Game reminded me of that Silsbee/Argyle game a few years back in how it ended. Hopefully surviving a game like this is a really good sign for BU.

Don't know if recruit is the right word, but we got a pretty good one that'll be on the team next year. I'm pulling for BTW when/if they play FF. Only team I can really see beating them in 4A is some sort of school that plays Argyle ball really, really well. Matter of fact, Argyle is the last team to knock them out of the playoffs, I believe.

I remember hearing about some high level athletes getting insured for up to a million dollars. I don't remember the specifics. It may have just been for kids who already had a few years of college play. Both Miller and Harris have opportunities 99.9999 percent of us will never have. Can't blame them for taking it and doing what's best for themselves.

Miller should do whatever is best for himself. As much as we all hate losing in b-ball, it's really not THAT serious at the end of the day.

Not sure those other Tiger teams would have ever beat FF or this year's BTW, but we'll never know. Things are a little harder now than they were back then. Looking at what cost us this game with the bad 3 point shooting and turnovers, a Bush is exactly what would have fixed that. The entire core of those Silsbee teams were b-ball players only too. We'd get maybe two kids from the football team, but everyone else was 100 percent focused on basketball.

I had San Marcos making state. Was shocked they took a 30 point beatdown to Brennan, so SA must be doing something right. Still, BU by 10.

Johnson is the QB . Y'all realize he's only a freshman right. He's 6'2 already with time to grow and get a lot better still. I think the next-gen Tigers after 24 will be fine. Jones, Johnson, Adams, Arline, yet another Cartwright and plenty more. The newer Cartwright looks like he'll be a little taller than the past few. I could see us making region for at least 5 more years.

Early season games are a funny thing. I'd bet BU would beat BTW by 10 - 15 right now. And are y'all going to join us at region next year or keep getting slapped around by Furr and BTW.

You have to think Coach Love is getting sick and tired of FF stacking and getting in Carter's way every year. Let these teams stack however they want, I guess. I don't want to hear any crying when Silsbee does it next year though.

Tigers lose 4 off this year's squad. Going to be adding plenty to the roster next year though. Let's give it another go next season.

How do you even allow a 21 - 0 run like that? You'd think somebody would at least try to draw a foul and get to the line or something.

Bottley really is the unsung hero of this team. Don't really like how we gave up a 10 point lead at such a critical part of the game. A win is a win though.

I wonder how HISD feels about constantly getting their butts kicked in b-ball by little Beaumont? I think this year is their best shot at Silsbee till 2025.

Jackson is probably the best shooter on the team outside of Harris. Bottley can be either hot or cold. He'll either make five or six a game, or miss almost every one he takes. But yeah, Silsbee ain't a great shooting team overall.

Jackson and Bottley played just as well for Silsbee as anyone. I think HJ did a decent job keeping Miller and Harris in check.

After how the HJ and Jacksonville games have gone, I think Silsbee is gonna have to settle for winning ugly from here on out. We've knocked Furr out of the playoffs so many times these past few years, I'm sure they're going to be wanting some of the Tigers. So long as we don't play terrible, Tigers by 6.

Just saw a clip of this fight. [Hidden Content] Wasn't much of a brawl. Just two kids traded punches. Rule are rules, I guess, but I sorta feel bad for Martin going down like that. Anyways, only thing standing in BU's way of a three peat is BU. I'm sure Coach Green will have them ready every game and not let that happen though.

Speaking of which.... Just saw where Lake Highlands almost lost to Arlington Martin. Martin only had 5 players playing due to a bench clearing brawl in the previous game. I'd say they're very beatable when the time comes.
