Little Cypress-Mauriceville 60 Silsbee 92/FINAL
Tigers94 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Tiger scoring: Harris - 21 Miller - 17 Jackson - 16 Bottley - 15 Dean - 7 Cartwright - 7 Harper - 4 Jones - 3 Elam - 2 After an ice cold first half, Silsbee ended up with ten 3 pointers. Lost the dunk count 1 - 2. Was a close game for just a little bit, but #22 for LCM can't do it all for four quarters. -

Yeah, Jackson is #10. Cartwright is #11. Dean is looking more comfortable out there as well. -

Freezing in that gym tonight. Maybe that had something to do with Silsbee being so cold from 3 in the first half 🤷♂️ Geremiah Jackson really has been coming on strong for Silsbee as of late. -
Kinda wish we were flying low like last year. All a ranking does is put a big target on your back. This game might be closer than some think, too. LCM has some talent.

Some people will fight over anything. Watch the news. I can guarantee you a good deal of the violent altercations you see and hear about started over something stupid and minor. Dave Chappelle called it "When keeping it real goes wrong." Can't say I disagree with that. -

Also, Silsbee can't just out athlete WOS like they do a lot of other teams. -

There was nearly a fight at halftime in Silsbee last year near where you get food and drinks. Police escorted a few people out and everyone else back to their side of the court smh. WOS had better not lose to Lumberton or Bridge City now. -

He can also dunk pretty easy. Been working on his jumping ability also. -

Was an interesting game if you stopped watching after the first 2 or 3 minutes. Two Silsbee kids did not play tonight. Ashton Cartwright and 6`4 freshman Billy Boulwen suited up but saw no action. Boulwen has been MIA all together till tonight. Hopefully he can get a little playing time under his belt this year. -
I imagine Silsbee will call off the dogs if the score isn't very close in the 4th. No sense risking an injury to a starter in a game that's already over.

It's not a broadcast. SISD streams home games on their Youtube channel. Go here tomorrow close to gametime.

Yes.

Haven't seen Lumberton play. Doesn't look like they have any wins over quality opponents. We'll see. Honestly, Silsbee should beat everyone in district by an average of 20 points if this bunch is who we think they can be this year. There might be one or two teams that can keep things interesting for a quarter or two, but that's about it.

One team that played yesterday looked really strong. I didn't watch all the games to see everyone play. 7th grade has a kid that'll be going straight to varsity when he makes it to high school. Could be just as good as anyone currently on the Silsbee varsity roster. He'll get one year to play along side Jared and Drelon. 2024 Silsbee could be a nasty bunch. -

Not really sure. It might all be 8th graders, just an A team and a B team. -

Max Preps has some highlights. If anyone wants to see the Silsbee middle school kids play ball, SISD is streaming the Southeast Texas Shootout right now. -

They did what they were supposed to against a bad team. Nothing that exciting really. -

Think that was the girl's score. Boys is 75 - 33 in the 3rd. -
I don't guess that 8th grade class BC had that was pretty good has made the transition to high school very well yet. Silsbee should win by a decent bit. It probably won't be as bad as some people think. Starters will likely get a lot of rest.

Yeah, it's weird. BU had a really good showing against top level competition. Kimball lost 72 - 64 against ESD. That team then gets handled pretty easily by Dallas Carter. Oh well. All that really matters is who's left standing at the end.
-
I'll take Dville, BU, and (unfortunately) Faith Family out of those matchups. Beaumont United should be #1 in 5A now. If the Episcopal Saints of whatever they're called can take out Kimball, there's no reason to think BU can't do it again.
