  1. He's probably about 6'5 or 6'6 right now. He is a freshman. He really needs a year to develop before he's ready for serious playing time. If he can grow another inch or two and get a little stronger and quicker by next year, that'll be great. Him and our freshman point guard could help a lot next year. I think the PG should be playing more right now. Give it 2 or 3 years. I would say 2 years, but that might be wishful thinking. There's lots of talent in the pipeline at Silsbee. What people are seeing right now won't last or become the new normal for very long. I think the final in the Grand Oaks game was 68 - 56. That's a lot closer than I thought it'd be.
  2. Silsbee lost 53 - 40 to Ned. They then lost 61 - 51 to Tomball Memorial. They're likely in for a butt kicking in the morning. Maybe a 20 - 30 piece. Lets see them prove me wrong.
  3. I've said this before, but Sisbee's biggest problem is they lost 50-60 points per game (Harris/Miller/Bottley/Elam) to graduation last year. They haven't been able to make up for it this year consistently. Teams know they can focus on Peyton, and if nobody else can do anything, it'll go bad for the Tigers. There's other problems too, but I'll leave it off of these forums.
  4. Are there any serious threats this year? Vidor seems to be pretty solid. West Orange can sometimes give us trouble, whether it makes sense or not. These next two years are the down years for Silsbee (by Tiger standards) as far as I'm concerned. If anybody wants to sneak in a district win, that'll be the time to do it.
  5. Shoulders made five or six 3 pointers. He probably finished with 20+ points for the game. If we can get something close to that out of him consistently, they'd be great. Everybody for Silsbee went cold in the second half. That can't keep happening.
  6. Payton is cold right now. These other kids need to step up and close the game out.
  7. Tigers up 44 - 29 at the half
  8. It seems like Johnson may get to play this year after all.
  9. Call me being picky, but I'd like to see us average in the 90s against teams like Lumberton. We lost a lot of scoring to graduation last year, and it needs to be at least partially made up with consistency. Any good team will beat Silsbee if we can't reliably get it from kids not named Payton.
  10. I remember that game 🤦‍♀️ Speaking of La Marque, they might also be another threat if they're R3.
  11. Reminds me of Bush's last year in Silsbee before football was over. He'd drop 50 on some teams and we'd still lose.
  12. Did they just move to R3 this year? We should have seen them last year in the playoffs if they were R3 then.
  13. Yeah, they're region 4. We're region 3. A little mixed up there. I see Payton scored 44 out of the 50 points for Silsbee. That's going to need to change going forward.
  14. They're R3, but they're also a Houston area school. That's a little different from when we played teams like Levelland or Somerset. We'll just have accept our butt kicking today. What's important right now is that Silsbee has improved over last week.
  15. What in the world. Well the HF game will be interesting, considering there's a Silsbee kid on the their team.
  16. I'm intrigued by the Stafford game. They've been a top 5ish team in 4A for a while, but we've never crossed paths with them as far as I know. PA will be tough in the morning. Silsbee will need to handle their defense better than they did in the first game.
  17. Silsbee finally played two halves of basketball. I realize Humble ain't all that, but we'll take it.
  18. Longview - 50 DeSoto - 14 Final If I hadn't been watching this game and seen this score, I would have assumed somebody was messing around posting this.
  19. That might do it. Longview - 43 DeSoto - 14 7:30 left in the 4th
  20. Longview - 36 DeSoto - 14 Almost the end of the 3rd.
  21. DeSoto is letting one player kick their butts on offense. Longview - 30 DeSoto - 7
  22. Longview - 23 DeSoto - 7 Halftime.
  23. Silsbee looses again to Westbury Christian. 58 - 51.
