I think I worry about Huffman going nuts from the 3 point line more than anything. We've seen teams do that to us this year and build temporary decent leads. A better team does it to us, they may be able to pull away and keep that lead. Interesting to see Somerset beat Stafford. Don't know who we'd play if we win this, but if it ain't Carter or Faith Family, we got a decent shot at the finals.

One good point for Silsbee is we have a solid 10 kids that can really go. You can't just shut down one or two players and that be good enough. That's a far cry from the team a year ago. Kinda wish Bush got to play with this bunch for his senior year, but that's a meaningless wish.

A fancy record over the years doesn't mean anything if you got nothing to show for it. At the very least a few region appearances would be expected if you're that good. I heard somewhere this was Huffman's first time past round 3. Some teams have those records cause they hardly ever challenge themselves. Look at how Hamshire Fannett handled them and their fancy record last year. It's no wonder they didn't want that other kid to play for Fannett this season. Not saying Silsbee is gonna win. I didn't expect Silsbee to be playing past playoff game number 2. This is still a young team rebuilding. Everything has just been icing on the cake these past few games.

Oh that's not good at all. BU by 20 if that's the case. I see a lot of second chance put backs for the Wolves unless that one kid is an absolute monster. I'd try to get him in foul trouble early.

From listening to the Lumberton game, it sounds like Hargrave is really good at drawing charges. Some of our kids (especially Miller) needs to watch themselves with that. HH seems to be on a roll, but so are we. I'll take Silsbee by 4. One thing that does sorta concern me is Silsbee hasn't really played many good teams that like slow ball. Need to jump on them early and force the issue a bit.

Carthage have a bunch of 300+ pound lineman running up and down the floor? Be crazy if they keep on winning. Might be the start of something for their b-ball program.

Start on MLK off 5th street and go all the way down to where it comes out on 327. That's more than half of Silsbee right there. Some of those kids aren't that far from Kountze if you go far enough. Don't feel bad at all if a Lion ends up in a Tiger uniform. Some of our players have ended up there when they were killing it.

I recall some people on here mentioning discipline issues and kids quitting/getting kicked off the team in the not-so-distant past. They got a good bunch of 8th graders, as has been mentioned. It wouldn't make sense for too many of them to wind up in Silsbee next year. Playing time would be hard to come by, as Silsbee should have around a half dozen of their own kids ready to move up to varsity next year.

What's funny is both Miller and Harris were pretty good free throw shooters during the regular season. Don't know what happened 🤷‍♂️ I think I saw somewhere that Harris was averaging 22ppg in the playoffs so far.

Tigers by 4. Obviously I'm biased, but as long as bad Silsbee doesn't rear its ugly head, we got a good chance.

BU by 25. Part of me thinks if you made this far it has to be for a reason, so maybe it'll be closer than that. Of course sometimes that reason is you had an easier path also.

Manvel has never gotten over the choke job they did in football to Jerry Jones son a few years back. They're mentally scared for life.

Kids have done a lot of growing up these past few games. I predicted 3 rounds this year maybe. Was worried we wouldn't get that far considering who opponent number 2 was. Some people didn't think we'd beat Hamshire Fannett. Anything beyond this is just gravy. Although I would find it amusing if we managed to get a game with Stafford this year after all.

Once again Silsbee had 3 freshman finish out most of the 4th. I believe Bottley had three 3 pointers in the game. Game against Connally is gonna be on Tuesday at Madisonville HS at 7pm.

Waco Connally is always tough. They gave one of those championship Silsbee teams all they wanted one year.

Yeah, I think I'd root for this team if they weren't playing us. Kinda sad when you're shocked by another team showing sportsmanship though.
