Carthage vs Gilmer ***4A Div. II State Championship***

Talk about winning a state title and making it look easy. Really wish we could have seen a healthy West Orange take on this bunch. -

They're probably talking about the Max Preps ranking for BU. -
Could have sworn Adams was 6'1 his freshman year. Even remember him being listed as such on the roster 🤷
-
Keep in mind this is only Miller's second basketball game at the varsity level. Harris reminds me a lot of a former Silsbee kid who was also a 6`1 freshman a few short years ago. I believe that kid is doing well for himself these days. Bottley is also playing well for a freshman. Got two tough games coming up. One of them is a for sure loss. I just want us to compete better though. The other might be winnable.

If Lumberton wants a win over Silsbee, they had better do it this year. How good is their point guard play? Any answer below pretty good ain't gonna cut it. -

#20 Silsbee at Orangefield
Tigers94 replied to SportsJunkie32's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Orangefield still have their big kid? I liked us subbing in 5 at a time last game. Don't know if Coach Sigler is confident enough in the roster he has to keep doing it or not. We'll see. I personally think it can work in district. -
Finally found some individual stats for this game: Raymond Baltrip 20pts 9rebs Shan Gilder 19pts 6rebs Jared Harris 17pts 5rebs 4stls Drelon Miller 10pts 4rebs 3stls

Best Bakstball Tradition Alltime in Texas

Got to go with PA Lincoln. -
Don't remember the number, but he was a starter. About 6'3 and a thick build. I think #1 was on the floor, but not 100 percent on that. Edit: Checked the Max Preps highlights. He was out there.
-
Silsbee had 17 steals. That certainly didn't help Woodville's chances. The Eagles also shot the ball really poorly from the 3 point line. They did have one pretty good sized kid on the floor, but he didn't do too much.
-
We missed 2 dunks 😟 I do believe this is the first game we've had our entire roster active. Be interesting to see if Coach Sigler keeps subbing 5 in and 5 out from now on. Miller ended up with 8 - 12 points for the night. I think that Silsbee roster is fairly accurate with the heights. One of our kids really did grow 3 inches going into his senior year. That's quite a late growth spurt.

Silsbee 63 Beaumont United 109/FINAL
Tigers94 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
By next year we should have a good idea of where Silsbee stands. I still think we'll be okay come district and playoff time this year. We go into district without winning a single game, I might start to worry a little. We've got some other kids in the pipeline that already look to be excellent ballers. A lot of them won't make it to high school in time to play with our current kids though. BU should make it to state this year. What's the main thing standing in their way of a title? FB Hightower and Lancaster? Either them or some other Metroplex school, I'd guess.
