Silsbee Vs Texarkana Pleasant Grove > @ Carthage 7:30 Friday
Tigers94 replied to Who That's topic in High School Football
Probably gonna lose by four or five touchdowns if we can't pass the ball. Only hope is if PG doesn't have a great run defense. At least we had the balls to attempt this game with such a young squad. I guess that counts for something. -
Only excuse you can make for Foster is he's playing with a lot of new kids on offense. Maybe they need a few games together before things start to improve. He doesn't get better in the very near future, then maybe it's time for a change.
-
Miller is 21. God I hope he doesn't get hurt. And Brisbane looked good, but those were very safe passes to make. Maybe that's what Foster needs.
-
Too bad we don't have a passing game. Foster doesn't have his security blanket this year in Cartwright to sling it to. We play a good passing team that can stop the run and we're toast. I'm glad we won, but don't get carried away. Some of this is Lumberton ain't that good.
-
Baltrip with the TD. Don't think he even played football last year.
-
Foster done for the night. Not like it mattered.
-
Malik Jones is number 24. I really don't know how much Lumberton lost from last year, but the score was at least respectable between them and Silsbee from a year ago.
-
That could realistically happen. Perfect scenario would be the Hawks beating Silsbee in the regular season, only for the Tigers to knock them out in the playoffs. Don't think our young cats could handle Yates this year. Next year it'll be on though. Crazy how taller Harris has gotten. I swear he still looked like a little kid less than a year ago.
-
Goodnight Raiders. Four TDs for Jones.
-
Tiger pass defense is giving Lumberton just a little bit of hope. We keep giving the ball to Jones and good things keep happening. We score again before halftime and it might be goodnight Raiders.
-
Going the wrong way again 🤬
-
Lets get some points before halftime now.
-
Malik Jones is having a very good game on both sides of the ball.
-
TD Silsbee. Guess that onside kick don't matter now.
-
Not sure how I feel about that onside kick.
-
And Lumberton gives it right back. TD Jayron Williams for Silsbee.
-
Sigh. Turnover all ready by Silsbee.
-
How about some early Jared Harris highlights. That's a quality dunk at the end. Almost got his forearm over the rim. Crazy to think he's just a freshman.
-
Might be closer than some people expect, but I think a Tiger victory is likely. Lets see how many Raiders our young sophomore Williams can lay the smack down on. Pro tip: if you're a Raider player, run the other way.
-
May as well get use to real Tiger basketball not starting till after football season. That's just the norm now. I do think we may be a little better off than last year's Silsbee Lite team. We'll have a few solid kids to try and work with, as opposed to the Bush and the Misfits squad we had last year.
-
Yeah I think the dunk count might be a little higher in Tiger games this year.
-
Looking like the same old story as always . Play like garbage early in the season, then make a playoff run towards the end of the year. Be nice if we could play well from the get go.
-
Can't say I'm surprised at any of this 😟 I don't like wearing mask either, but I always wear one when I'm in any enclosed area. From what I understand, the virus is a lot less contagious in open outdoor areas like football stands. So if people would just follow a few simple and easy rules, we could have a full season.

Looks like there's not even gonna be a power loss where I'm at, although most the red lights weren't working this morning. About to drive around and see what some places look like. It really was crazy to watch and see how close this storm came to us, but ended up doing very little. Just a little to the west and we'd be Lake Charles this morning.
-
Looks like we may have dodged a bullet compared to how things could be going. At least here in Silsbee it still ain't bad. Still have power as of right now.
