Think we need to develop an "oh woe is us" attitude towards Silsbee ball next year. That way we can act all delighted and trilled whenever the poor little Tigers manage to win a game. There really might be around 10 freshman and sophomores on the team next year. At the very least Miller, Bottley, and Harris will likely go straight to varsity, probably more than that. Think there's at least two current JV players that might could contribute in some way. Number 1 and 20. Gilder and Baltrip will be the only seniors that see playing time.

I really didn't see anything wrong with Rideaux's coaching style. He's not any less vocal or loud than our JV coach can be at a lot of times. Some fans just aren't used to that, I guess.

Pretty much this. I hate to overreact after one game and go there, but we could have done so many things better. At the very least we could have backed off their point guards. They we're getting by our defenders almost every time playing them tight, which lead to most of HF's points. Back off and force them to make a shot from outside. If they beat us with that, so be it. HF beat us with their big post player ( and I think one other kid) not even playing last night doing the same thing over and over 🤬

If I were Lumberton or Hardin Jefferson, I'd do the same thing HF did tonight on offense to Silsbee. The Raiders sorta did that in the first game and made it interesting. Tigers really are like a high school version of the Houston Rockets. Small ball and look like world beaters when the 3 is falling and getting easy lay ups. Could lose to almost anyone if neither of those are going our way and we're playing lackluster defense.

Well at least we've denied Hardin Jefferson the chance to give us our first district loss in a long while. Hard to win a game when you can't make any shots. Silsbee rarely stopped HF when they took the time to set up their offense. They'd just drive to the basket and kick it to mainly one player, get a lay up or a foul called. Their point guards did a good job of not giving the ball up for the most part. I can feel that 3rd round playoff loss coming now......if we get that far.

Silsbee by 10 - 12 points. Tigers have been in a bit of a shooting slump these past two games. Definitely gonna be closer than the first game if that continues tonight.

I've watched that Carter game 3 times now. It was crazy how well they shot the ball. If Silsbee had been just a little off that night, they would have probably lost.

I think they were. Of course it depends on which national rankings you go by.

There may have been some Kountze teams that would have a shot at Silsbee from the past two years. No way do I think any Lion team beats the 2016 - 2017 bunch. That group was truly loaded. They won a state title DESPITE losing Devin McCain. They also came within, I think, 3 or 4 points of beating 6A finalist Wagner that year.

Next year would be a perfect time for a Kountze vs Silsbee game. Tigers are gonna be very young and inexperienced next season, although plenty talented.

I don't think any of our top players had good nights. Bush definitely wasn't his usual self. Neither was Martin. Missed about half a dozen shots at the rim he'd usually make. Cartwright was also a non factor tonight. I think Harper played nearly the entire second half. Good seeing one of our young cats getting quality time. Overall this is the worse I've seen Silsbee (real Silsbee) play all year. Don't know if I should be glad we still nearly won by 20, or worried that it might carry over into the next game.
