Hamshire Fannett had a good freshman class last year. Played Silsbee pretty close in both games.

Silsbee's pass defense had better improved since Spring Hill.

This game will be over by halftime if not sooner. The only hope Lumberton has is very long drives that eat up the clock and Carthage coming in to this game a little too cocky. They ain't unbeatable though. La Vaga beat them down pretty good a few years ago.

If we stay within 15 - 20 points, I'll be happy. Anything close to 10 points and I'll be surprised. This shouldn't be a good game, really. Looking for one of our new point guards to make some noise.

Looking at the stats for this game, the only battle Silsbee really lost was rebounds. Got out rebounded by 12. I guess that was to be expect given La Marque's size. We did have more assist and steals, so I guess that's something. Man I hope it doesn't get too ugly this Friday. May need Bray to go all Wilt Chamberlain for us and score 100 😅

Looks like LaMarque has a lot of kids with good size if their listed roster is to be believed. This one could be a challenge.

I think Silsbee beat Oak Ridge 26 - 20.

I think we might can take Nederland and West Brook. Memorial and United are very likely a not gonna happen. Not unless Silsbee shoots a crazy high percentage from 3 point land. It doesn't' matter though. We'll be able to mix it up with almost anybody soon after this year.

How many people will be complaining if WB makes another run at state this year? What we really need is a 7A class. Then we shouldn't have to worry about this stupid system.

I swear it rains almost every Friday. It won't be that high scoring of a game, but Silsbee should take this by 2 or 3 TDs.

If West Brook could only be as good in every area of the game as they are on offense they'd be at that next level. So many points/yardage given up on special teams and bad tackling on defense last night. That and a horrible kicking game. If they can improve on some of this by playoff time, they could make another good run.

WB special teams are terrible.

Even when WB gets a TD, something bad happens.

Galena Park ain't exactly a great area for kids to flock to. Not unless they're coming from other bad areas. I can't imagine one of the nice suburb school kids having his parents want to send him there for football. They're just a really big school with a lot of kids to pull from. West Brook should never have to play in 6A D1 due to their enrollment size. It ain't impossible for a much smaller school to beat a bigger one (see Westlake vs Allen a few years ago), but they're certainly at a disadvantage more often than not.

If Banks is anywhere near 100 percent healthy, WB gonna get lit up. I think they might can make it interesting for a quarter or so, but that's about it.

Jayce Jones. 6'5 225 pound freshman Gonna make some noise this year, and then only get bigger and better after that. Jayden Brisco. Not 100 percent sure if he's gonna be on varsity or not. I think he is.

It's been, I think, more than 10 years since Silsbee has played East Chambers. I believe EC lost by nearly 30 points that game. Silsbee very rarely schedules down with Coach Sigler running the show. If the Tigers can make it into district this year a few games over 500, I'll consider that a solid accomplishment. No easy road here, regardless of who is or isn't on the team anymore.

Thing is there's a simple way to stop all this non sense. You transfer to a new school and play sports, you sit out the entire season for whatever that sport may be. That means playoffs and everything. No getting around it. You get caught cheating, you get put on probation where your season is over once the playoffs start.

Looks like Silsbee is gonna take a few on the chin early on. November 22 could be the first home loss in a very long time.

Jones and Bush were Silsbee kids going to school in Beumont. Yeah, Calvin was a transfer. Transfers happen and one player here and there ain't a huge deal. What I don't like is these kids trying to build super teams like they see in the NBA. Yates has 3 this year if info is correct. That's bs. I guess I really blame Kevin Durrant and LeBron for this.

It's hard to compete with a team that gets so many transfers in 4A. Unless we've all been misinformed, it's gonna be Yates region to lose this year. What's funny is how fast they dropped out of 5A just a few short years ago. Their current student count is listed at 832. Cutoff for 5A is 1150. There must have been a mass exodus from that school or something. Maybe a lot of kids found a better communications program to go to. Give Silsbee two years and they'll be ready to fight again. Might even be the best team in the area by then.

One of those upcoming classes is the 8th graders. The kids that are in high school now still need a year of experience under their belts, I think. One kid who was clearly the best player on JV last year should be on varsity this year. He'll help some. Won't get to see "real" Silsbee for a while in basketball.

Amazing to see how the once mighty have fallen so far.
