Hhhmm. I think the Panther is still better. Even though they are the Gator Capitol of Texas, a gator just seems to slow. He has a real bite but no speed around the corners like Anahuac is known for.  Gator is good eaten though.

Interesting rankings this week...  Newton is still #2 after losing to EC.  Buna is tied with EC but was dominated by Newton two weeks ago.    :o

EC has had some issues with the secondary getting beat on some pass plays but i just don't see the Hardin defense stopping Glenn Roberts and keeping the game close.  Newton has a superior defense compared to Hardin and they couldn't stop him.

Sorry to say this but even if HJ was in 2A Division I this year they still wouldn't make the playoffs.  They have already lost to two teams in that Division by 20 plus points in both games.. EC & Anahuac.  I doubt they could beat Woodville, Buna or Newton.  They are going to have to keep some kids interested in playing in high school.  They have decent teams in the lower levels..

Going with Roberts... 294 yards against a team that was ranked #2 in the state at game time.

I think Newton has to many offensive weapons for Woodville... going to say: Newton 34 Woodville 14

but then again... this was your prediction on another thread so whatever... Newton wins by however much they want!!!

if Newton had scored again they would have won.... so yea.. it could have been worse if they hadn't gotten two easy ones... They were luck... those EC errors were not forced by the defense.. it was a bad snap and a bad pitch to the running back.

Could have been worse if it wasn't for the fumble run back for a TD and the TD on the snap over the punter.

I thought this was a warmup game for Newton.

i also think the late whistle's caused the Woodville quarterback to have his knee twisted in the pile... He was stopped but still standing and they did not blow the whistle.. The pile got moved and his knee was injured.. Glad to see him come back a quarter later.

EC did catch a break on that fumble but Woodville certainly benefited from the terrible officiating.  The safety call was a joke.  The EC players forward progress stopped on the 6 or 7 yardline and they allowed the play to continue into the endzone where there was a fumble recovered by EC.  Safety for Woodville.. Overall, i was a bit surprised Woodville played as well as they did after losing to some other teams.
