It's my understanding that Vance dislocated his shoulder. He went to the hospital to have it put back into place. I doubt he will play this week.

*East Chambers 34 Buna 33 Final/Comments*

it was a great game.. had me on the edge of my seat the whole time... I can't wait to see how district 24-AA represents itself in the playoffs. EC did get a little lucky but to say Buna didn't is a false statement. The offsides call on the 1st onside kick at the end of the game and the ball hitting the EC guy in the back on the punt we lucky plays as well. -
IMO High School football is a life event not something just discussed or enjoyed in high school. The games that these athlete's play will be rehashed as long as they live... It's bigger than entertainment. No one is getting payed on that field so it isn't for entertainment. It is done out of a love for the game and the competition that drives us all. It's going to war with your teammates/friends and building a bond. No matter where these kids go after high school it will always bond them. Even today as I watch them play, I would love to be able to get back on the field and have that feeling again. The only difference today is that the ambulance would be needed to haul me off.

TT by far. Nolan has some really good numbers but i am afraid his football career stops in Hardin.
-
that's right.. grab a spot on the fence..

Well...let's see.. EC played weak 3A competition and Buna played weak 1A competition.. It is different. Also, if you remove Anthony Smith... I bet Buna is weaker also so that argument doesn't hold water. Tremain will play so why talk about it.

Names to remember for next year...EC Raymond (Jr) & Carrington (Soph).... I don't think the Quarterback position will be the highlighted position it is this year but there will be a very good running game next year and a veteran line.
-
Speaking as someone who graduated from EC and played ball... Most players go both ways.
-
I think they lost in the second round last year 48-28 to the eventually state champs so it's hard to say since all competition basically is second fiddle to the state champs. It all depends on the match up.
-
pure genius. dad knows best.
-
That's my point. Again, I don't see Buna scoring 35 points.
-
just so you have the numbers. EC has given up 59 points total... 52 points in the 4th quarter.
-
EC won't give up 35 points. I think EC wins by 3 TD's... I have watched quite a few EC games. If you look at the box scores on their games you will see that almost all of the opponents scores come late in the 4th quarter of the games. I am not saying that this exclusively because of subs playing but it is somewhat of a factor in games that they have large leads going into the 4th quarter. I don't think they will be putting subs into this game for experience unless again they have a large lead so I don't see Buna scoring 35 points.

Sounds like someone needs to listen more in English class. How do you get birdies out of East Chambers Buccaneers?
-
I think all of these coaches deserve their current recognition but we have alot of football to go....
-
too early to here.... but EC wins
-
i agree. EC has played one sloppy game this year but most of the time it is amazing to watch them play. TT is probably the most elusive player I have ever seen. The other players that you have mentioned are also very good players. I almost think it works to EC's advantage that so many teams just focus on Tremaine. It leaves them open to so many other options.
-
I didn't see the game so let me restate myself. Buna and Hardin ran into some better competition. They were not able to blow their competition out (Kountze/Anahuac).. From what I read Kountze played an outstanding game and very well had a chance to win it. I tip my hat to Kountze for playing well. No disrespect intended.
