Jasper has four interceptions. I think that's the most this season...

Jasper is hard to throw against. Nobody's had success in the air against the starters. We're starting to sub now, so that might change.

It's hard to do what you want when you're playing from behind. I'm sure Center didn't want to pass as much as they have. They had to control the ball to keep Jasper's offense off the field.

Jasper is playing well tonight, but something tells me that Center's not done yet.

I don't know how they do it at calpreps, but their algorithm is pretty damn good.

If Huntington and Tarkington move down like you're saying, those two 4a-D2 districts look to be really competitive. I'd much rather have that with Diboll thrown into the mix than what we have now.

I saw that we're at 695 students now. Back in our day, we were at just over 1000. Pretty amazing how things have changed.

I miss the rivalry, too, but hopefully we can put all of the heresay to rest and get it figured out at some point down the road. It's unfortunate that we're all having to deal with it on both sides.

Hopefully we'll be in a bigger district and that will make scheduling a little easier....

They only lost Lumberton and WOS to weather and then made the switch to Diboll to cancel out the other cancellation. Whatchoo talkin bout, Willis?

Jasper 53 Huntington 7 FINAL With the running clock, the second half was played in a half-hour.

We need to revisit this. Flacco was disinterested tonight against KC and it looks like he only cares that his game check clears. Denver did nothing against a below-average Chiefs defense, too. The Broncos do suck and it's all at Elway's feet. One QB would fix most of it, but he has proven time and time again that he can't evaluate them at all.

Our coaches used to give out bonehead "awards" back in the day. That coach deserves one.

I heard BYE's defense always throws up shutouts, but their offense is the worst ever. I'll go with a 0-0 tie.

Tarkington isn't that bad this year. They might get the third spot. I really wish the UIL would put a stop to the four team playoff format. It makes a mockery of the whole thing.

I agree with you, but they could schedule winnable games against smaller schools prior to district play. Maybe they do that to some extent. It's true that there are a lot of schools that are struggling, but most of them have been good at some point in their history. Huntington never has. It'll happen eventually, but when? Lumberton was like that too for a long time, but they eventually had winning seasons, playoff appearances, etc.

I agree. I was happy to see them finally make the playoffs last year, but unfortunately they are back to really struggling. It's gotta be hard on those kids. Huntington was won only 45 games in 37 seasons. I don't know how they've kept it going, but you have to tip your hat to their resilience.

It's pointless to really dive too deep into actually previewing this game because the Bulldogs can literally name the score (DCTF has them favored by 65). I'm wondering if anyone is doing anything over at Huntington to make them competitive. I've always heard that they don't care about football, but why is that? Why field a team when you're okay with being cannon fodder to every team you line up against?

It would have been nice to get that game played, but we can make sure we're healthy going into those last two games.

Jasper wins 51-21. Shepherd played well in the second half against our backups.

Jasper's playing undisciplined football again. Lots of penalties. That's not gonna fly down the line against good teams.

It's not gonna hurt health-wise. That's for sure.

It needs to. Honestly, we need to get right and play a clean, dominant game and then do that consistently to the rest of the district. If we're not doing that, we're not gonna be ready for the playoffs and we're not gonna last long.
