LaMarque has struggled out of the gate, but I have a feeling that they're gonna be ready to go this week. Does Jasper keep rolling or could this be a trap game heading into the showdown with WO-S next week in Jasper?

That same thing has always been true in Jasper, too. We don't always get the results we want and the relationship isn't always what it needs to be between the powers that be and the athletic department, but we've always had athletes. Getting everybody focused on one goal always helps and it looks like that's starting to change.

No. If I remember correctly, a lot of Cleveland's players quit before that game. We were ranked #1 in 4A going into it. Total yardage was like 750 to 10.

They beat Cleveland 82-0 in 1989 and that was with four touchdowns called back.

I remember talking to Coach Walkoviak about the same thing years ago when Ben Bronson was the quarterback. We probably threw about a dozen times a game and had pretty good backs, but he always said that there was more risk for turnovers in the passing game, He was right, but Ben had a cannon for someone that was only 5'9" and he was pretty accurate, too. I think Coach Barbay has a lot of his dad's philosophies that worked for so long and it's probably not easy to deviate from that.

This should be another game that the Bulldogs win easily, but what's going on with Livingston? They're really down this year and I know they've been good at times in the past. Why can't they win consistently over there?

Jasper's playing really well right now. I think the defense is the biggest strength right now. The passing game is unproven because we haven't needed it and probably won't until the WOS game. The coaching staff should use the early possessions in these next two games (Livingston, LaMarque) to mix in a few passing plays to give our quarterback some confidence.

Didn't see that coming. Wow...

It's been a while since Jasper opened up a season like this. It's a good time to be a Bulldog!
