  1. Not sure about Texan Live, but the student AV program at DHS does an incredible live stream broadcast on YouTube. I believe it's called Bronco Sports Live. I'll confirm and post a link here once I get it. Shout out to the AV teacher at DHS who has worked his tail off to get this high-quality broadcast off the ground to support Dayton athletics.
  2. Um, yes. Yes she will be. If Dayton beats Crosby, the community will blame her for running him off. Especially on the heels of the awful season Crosby had last year.
  3. I was told it was a new kid who had transferred in prior to this season. That could be inaccurate info, but that's the word anyway. Someone has to know.
  4. Who is the new QB at BH. I hear he is quite the player.
  5. Yes. You are literally leaving because you admit "your kid doesn't have a chance". Taking the path of least resistance serves no one well in life.
  6. Ahhhh, now the story is starting to become clear. Athletes seeking out additional coaching is not an abnormal thing, players doing it because "the LCM coaches don't develop their skill players" is a completely different animal. I believe I can sense the problem now. Carry on Peevey. You are doing an excellent job.
  7. You said a mouthful there. Sometimes this is problematic depending on how much the specialized QB coach wants to meddle in the business of the staff.
  8. Has anyone had their school's practices cancelled due to excessive heat? I am hearing it's happening more and more lately.
  9. Whatever it was, for this to happen now, it was bad. Seemed Roecker was beloved there and loved being there. Just last week he drove the cheerleaders to camp......so I was shocked when I saw this news break.
  10. The Rigdon boys have always been studs, and from what I can tell, great kids. But yeah, Coach Jamie's reputation hovers around them all like a black cloud. Once this one graduates after next year, he will probably be done coaching and have no affiliation with TXHSFB.
  11. I have resolved to ignore the ignorant comments which would seek to paint a staff, like the one in BH, as subpar. Sounds like a disgruntled parent has entered the chat. Wonder who this might be?
  12. I am not so sure any of this is on the kid. It seems like the dad can't get along with anyone ever. The only reason he's had any longevity in the business is because those boys come with him. It's a risk/reward thing I guess. But in other news, Columbus should be primed to make a heck of a run.
  13. Good Lord what a tragedy. Also a tragedy for any other coaches at the venue that night who had to witness this awful situation. Someone needs to be held accountable for her death.
  14. The podcast alone is worth the yearly fee. I have been a member for 4 years and have never received a magazine, but haven't really worried about it because i am mostly a subscriber for Stepp and Tepp.
  15. I believe he has always maintained residence in Crosby, so going back there isn't an issue. He went to BH in JH, so it wasn't an issue then either.
  16. That timing seems about right.
  17. I also suspect he's positioning for a return to Silsbee when Sigler finally retires.
  18. Williams will get them right.
  19. I guess I cannot argue with that, but I just cannot understand the mindset. Like I said, there are plenty of good reasons to make a move in these situations, but the reason's stated for this particular move are baffling to me.
  20. You just made my point for me. When the goal is focused on the individual player, football loses its differentiator. When the kid is more worried about getting "D1 looks" than he is doing his part to help the team succeed, he sets himself up for failure in life. You mention Reggie Branch, and I'd agree, the move to Crosby was the best thing for him. Not because he couldn't get "D1 looks" at GCM, but because GCM has shown no willingness to build a successful program. Playing for Coach P was a game changer for Branch and ultimately landed him at UIW. He has since transferred to TAMUC, but that is a whole different conversation. In the case of Robinson, he is an incoming Sophomore in a BH program, with a top tier coaching staff, that is poised to become a perennial mainstay at the top of the state rankings, and he leaves to go back to Crosby? Crosby has crashed and burned when Willis arrived. They won 2 games last year and you were one of the main voices on here last fall shoveling dirt on Wills. Now all of the sudden Robinson will be flanked with D1 talent and might throw for 2K in an offense you complained about last year for being too run heavy? Man, please!! All the kid has been taught is to run from competition. Two years ago, it was because Jerry Jr. was there, and he was the coach's son, so Robinson had no chance to beat him out.....flee to BH. BH coaches and community rave about the Freshman last year and say he has a chance to start but they won't promise the kid the job in the SPRING OF HIS FRESHMAN YEAR.....flee back to 2-8 Crosby because Jerry Jr. is gone now. It's pretty pathetic.
  21. This statement is why Warren will never be successful in football.
  22. That's a heck of a guess, and could apply to some there, but I wasn't taking direct shots. Just simply stating I understand moves for that particular reason.
  23. No school in particular, just a general statement. They're all over the state.
  24. And just for the record, there's a difference between running from competition and moving to another district because the one you are currently in has shown an unwillingness to build a championship program. Figured I'd clarify that before it came up.
