If I am not mistaken, Buna has more than one Franklin that can pitch. Jacob Kelly can also pitch.

If you include Goodrich as part of this area, then Kadijah Carter (Junior) is by far the best small school player. She averages over 30 points a game.

Big Sandy, Evadale, and West Hardin

#13 is Braden Franklin not Ethan.  Ethan is only in the 8th grade, Braden is a Freshman.

This should be a good game. Both programs are usually strong. I believe that Evadale has some young talent that will help them make a run for the next few years. Sounds like Orangefield has some pretty good young players. The opportunity to play more minutes will only make them better. Good luck to both teams!

Tyler County captured the 12 year old Dixie Youth Majors Tight Base State Championship Thursday night. They will travel to Laurel, Mississippi for the World Series. Their first game will be on August 8 against Arkansas @ 6:00 p.m.

Congratulations! Great job on the mound Dustin and Garrett! Stay focused and beat Maud.

No excuses. The Jackets walked 13 batters in the first meeting, and were lucky to escape with a win. If we lose next time, then we'll just play in the first round of the playoffs instead of waiting an extra week. There is still alot of baseball left to play. We could lose the rest of our games and not even make the playoffs. Just have to take them one at a time.

Sorry, but I did not post Monday's score with Brookeland either. This loss will probably turn out to be a very good thing for the Jackets, the monkey is finally off of their backs. The Jackets did out hit the Tigers, despite having more strikeouts than usual. We have played 19 games, and the line-up is still not set. Barnes, who took the loss in this game, has not pitched since the last time the Jackets and Tigers played. In that game he only pitched the last couple of innings for the save. Look for some changes in the line-up in the next few games, as the Jackets prepare to make the playoffs.

The first half of district is complete. The Jackets have Brookeland and West Sabine next week.
