  1. Yes they do. And now because of stupid people it's a state problem. I'm just glad vuvuzuelas never caught on here. They can keep that in South Africa. No more cowbell
  2. School board elections are not the same as state and national elections. They are on the proverbial slippery slope. That's not good. However the fact remains you must be a citizen to vote in our national elections. The Constitution is still the law of the land as of 5 minutes ago. I think you're working yourself up about a local California issue. Let them sort it out. And there's no need to pass legislation to restrict civil rights when the attorney general is dismantling them. I'm headed to the national peace museum this month in Montgomery. Maybe I'll get you a souviner.
  3. I think it's probably 50-50. The problem is some places abuse it. Outside of a TD or team intro, there's no need to break up the perfect ambiance of a high school game. That said, the UIL needs to stay out of this except for the playoffs. And the schools abusing the horn need to cut back it back. That's an issue that should be handled at the district level.
  4. Dude. I'm a very busy man. I don't have time for your games. You couldn't dispute what what I posted so you ran around in circles. California is not giving aliens the right to vote. That is a violation of our constitution and anyone who would propose that is ludicrous. That said voter fraud is truly rare. So much so that it wouldn't amount to a statisical margin of error. While there have been a few recent cases, the truth is it's not a national threat as some would have the public believe. It is much Ado about nothing. Voter apathy is a bigger problem. We need more citizens to be aware of the issues and go vote. Election day should be a holiday. Dark money is a bigger problem. Voter suppression is a bigger problem. I'll give you this. If minorities voted republican, they would be advocating for voter ID. They don't deserve the loyalty they receive.
  5. The state of schools in New Orleans is sad. I really feel bad for the children there. That said, I much prefer that public and private are separated. And recruiting here is much less prevanlent than in other states, including Louisiana. What's more likely in Texas is that momma and daddy get upset and move their children to a different School district. If Texas played by the rules across the Sabine, I have no doubt the setx would clean their clocks.
  6. I gave you multiple sources during our last go round and you ignored them. So I'm not confused. You're just a hypocrite.
  7. Never said they didn't have talent. It's just that the name of this site is southeast Texas sports. Not Louisiana sports. While the private schools here offer scholarship, they are handcuffed compared to Louisiana. That is a good thing. Go take a look at what's happening in Baltimore when recruiting has gone overboard. Louisiana has parish school districts. Here. Anyone can start a school district. So instead of PNG Nederland and memorial you would probably just have Port Arthur HS. That team probably is a state championship contender is Louisiana every year. There are some things the UIL can do better, overall I prefer the way sports are administated here. The UIL is typically considered the leader when it comes to overseeing extracurricular activities.
  8. No one cares about Louisiana hs football. They recruit and private school and public play all they way . At least in Texas, they force the private to play at the top level which nullifies the advantage of recruiting. Nederland is land locked they're not recruiting. It's a nice place between Beaumont and Port Arthur that has a decent school. Nothing more nothing less.
  9. Don't go there. When people throw information at you, you don't read the sources and ask for more information.
  10. I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce several times. He was a treasure. He's going to be missed. [Hidden Content]
  11. If you're talking about Brother Farrakhan, yeah he's a racist. See how easy that was? However, if we're gonna talk about racism, your tribe is the Google/Amazon/Apple of racism. And the GOP is the party of choice for racists. You can like him but quit trying to make it seem he's not racist.
  12. You know black people are not a monolith. There are some who like Fart. Doesn't mean Fart ain't racist. The celebrity in Chief record is one that indicates he has a hard on for racism. Why, just a week ago, he told Europe that migration was bad and would ruin their culture. That is the language of white supremacists. He's equal opportunity.
  13. His term ain't over. Let the trade war break out and see how happy you are. The tarriffs will hurt.
  14. My point remains this is inflated due to accelerated buying. We'll end the year at 3. And next year may be lower. But if you want a golf clap for your boy here's one
  15. What did I say that was racist. This is an economic thread. You must be sensitive.
  16. Yes it was. There are good people on both sides. Sorry there's no such thing as a good white supremacist.
  17. Oh I believe the numbers, even when Faux news reports them. Do you know why they are so high? China bought a trillion dollars worth of soy beans to beat the tarriff. Lots of other countries boughts goods too. Most economist say this is unsustainable. [Hidden Content] Once the trillion grift to corporate America is put on our credit card and we are in a full blown trade war I doubt well be singing praises to the orange idiot. BTW, you know the last time growth was this high, y'all didn't write such an article sing the president praises. In 2014 some guy named Barack Obama had 5.1 percent growth. Interesting...
  18. His multiple housing discrimination settlements, being the biggest birther conspiracy theory espouser, his calling for the death penalty for the innocent Central Park five, his qoutes in his books about removing black dealers from casino floors when he visited and calling white supremacists at Charlottesville good people tells me everything I need to know about him. That you would defend him despite this evidence tells me everything I need to know about you.
  19. I passed by the school today and they are leveling ground for the new soccer and track complex at Livingston. It will be nice for the kids to have a new facility to play in without driving. Here's hoping the weather cooperates and they get to play in it this spring.
  20. Your comphesion is bad. And you are a dumbass. I my very first link referenced the idiot Georgia lawmaker who was on the Sacha Baron Cohen show Sunday. Then I proceeded to list links to show the problems the GOP has because out right racists are running for office. I even included an article about problem child Steve King of Iowa who has given up on the dog whistle and just says racist shit outright. At this point you are either choosing to be stupid or you're racist because you don't see anything wrong with the people running for office. At this point you have been shown the evidence and you're choosing to not believe it. And you missed out on a good song too. There's nothing left to discuss with you.
  21. You pick one since you have a hard on for this. Go read. I answered your questions about the GOP the criminal justice system and the war on drugs. It's not my job to educate you about how the world works. If you want my help send me your address and I'll send you a bill for my time.
  22. There's nothing to debate. You can't debate facts. You just acknowledge them and move on. Go read and learn something. I guess Jasper Isley was too advanced for you. Too much soul. If Taylor Switft remakes this classic I'm blaming you. Her remake of "September" was a crime against humanity.
  23. I was not a fan of the superintendent when I was a BISD taxpayer. The district and the children were robbed under his watch. He's a big reason why the district is under state control. Removing his name would help distance the district from this terrible episode but it's up to the community to decide. Beaumont is the Golden Triangle and it's reputation is reflected upon the whole community. A strong BISD would be a boon for the whole area. Honestly, most people in the Golden Triangle want the best for BISD because it'll help the area grow. If you look at the fast growing areas in Houston, they have great schools, Katy, Conroe, Cy Fair, Ft Bend. That should be the measuring stick. Being the best in the area is not good enough. The state appointed board has done a good job of righting the ship. I'm hoping for the best because I have family going to school out there. I saw familiar names running and winning elections for the board. No one that served during that time should ever be trusted with our children's education, but it's a democracy and the people spoke. I hope better people run in the future. These past few years was watching history repeats itself as an enabling board forced the state to close the old BISD and the South Park district took over the schools in the 80s. I hope this is the last time the area's flagship district gets state intervention. Now that United is here, there are no more BISD legacy high school buildings in use. It's all South Park.
