Lions Pride 2021

After last night, I'm taking Livingston. How Vidor let Splendora beat them is a head scratcher. The Lions offense continues to pick up yards in chunks and the defense has found the stops it needed. If Vidor wins, we could have a messy scenario where Vidor, Splendora and Livingston all finish 3-2. Then we're looking at tiebreakers. Vidor is going to have to max out. They don't have the firepower to do it. 27-21 Lions

Per every "expert" in Texas, Vidor was going ride roughshod over everyone in 4A. The Pirates have 2 losses already. Those same experts said Livingston was going to be terrible for the umpteenth time in a row. Maybe the experts were wrong?

I still believe the district championship goes through Huffman Hargrave. Every year, someone says they're going to dethrone them and the Falcons find a way. HJ is going to find that out in basketball real soon. Gotta be something in the water in Lake Houston. That said... the winner of Livingston Vidor has a good shot. LCM is bad, Lumberton is bad, Splendora has enough to beat the Bears and the Raiders. The goal is to finish in the top 2. District 9 is a monster and it's probably best to stay away from Lindale and Kilgore in the first round. I don't think Livingston is losing at home this year. It'll be a close game, but the Lions have too many kids that can take it to the house at anytime. Leaving a minute on the clock is a bad idea. Splendora thought they were going into half time with a tie and the Lions just put another score on the board. It'll be fun.

I'm surprised Splendora didn't put up more of a fight. I wish the Wildcats well the rest of the season. It's going to be an interesting game in the jungle next week.

I have been holding it down for LCM in the woods for the past 17 years. I like it when the Bears do well. For most of my time on this board, my handle has been BearEssentials97. With that out of the way... No, this is based on what I seen of y'all. I ain't been impressed. I told you so after the Woodville game. I said there's no excuse to lose to the Eagles, y'all got at least twice the numbers. You had Kinkaid dead to rights. But once they shook off the dust they proceeded to steam roll you. You couldn't but a drive together to slow them down . It reminded me of the Texans meltdown in Kansas City in January. And you might as well stayed in the locker room against Jasper. I stated I was glad the game against Carthage was called off. They would still be scoring touchdowns as we speak. We score in a hurry. And we pick yards up in chunks. The Bears haven't had an answer for that all season. Y'all have a hard time keeping a drive alive. But that's why we play the game. We'll see you in Livingston in a few weeks.

They're going pound LCM this year in Livingston and next year on Bear Path. Y'all don't have an offense to keep up with Livingston. The Lions are a track meet waiting to happen. Next year, when they play in North Orange, you can buy me a beer at Spanky's before we both go sit on the home side because I was right about this. I raised Lions, but I'll always be a Bear.

I wouldn't go there yet... We play Hargrave and Splendora on the road. Both have been a house of horrors for us. I'm surprised y'all lost to Splendora; they haven't looked good this year. Vidor has been solid all season. We're going to beat the Battlin' Bears.

It's always the golden triangle games that have issues to the start. But can't complain too much. It's awesome to have all these games at your fingertips.

No joke. It's been a long time lost in the woods. I'm even shocked at their improvement. My poor Bears, it's not looking good on Bear Path.

Y'all gonna have power soon. Meanwhile in PA and Orange, they're looking at at least a week. and let's not even talk about Lake Charles. I hear y'all barely had anything. all the damage in Hardin County was in Silsbee. The Tigers ain't using that as an excuse tonight and neither are the Mustangs. Get over yourself.

Nah, that was never it. We would have won Thursday too. Y'all were outclassed on the field and out coached. Adieu, Lumberton fans. I wish I could say it's been a pleasure, but it wasn't.

For all those that were saying Livingston was looking to get a win by forfeit, look at the scoreboard. Hush!

I pick because I felt and still feel that some of the hysteronics of Lumberton wanting to play on Thursday or else was ridiculous. The forecast up here never called for bad weather and if the weather did get bad, the UIL lets you make the game up on Saturday, Monday or Tuesday. They escalated this out of proportion, like they were going die if we had a Friday football game. I said if you think the storm is that bad, then spend Thursday preparing for the storm because football shouldn't come before securing life and property. I always said prepare for the storm, even when I was teasing. Go back and look. I even said I feel bad for everyone without lights after my dig about people in Lumberton being on their roofs and in need of a boat rescue. They were no where near the storm surge. But if you let the Raiders tell it, they were the target of the eyewall. I exaggerated because they were overreacting. If you don't like it, that's on you.

No, people without power doesn't make me feel better. I just didn't understand the hard on y'all had to play on Thursday when it would be better to spend that time preparing for the storm. I didn't think we were going to play today because weather would mandate the move. it just irked me with all the hysteronics about moving the game. Said over and over that if the weather dictated it, it was gonna move. All the drama, it comes off as whining. And because I live in Livingston, I'm riding with my squad. I can't help y'all beat up on the town I live in. Glad you're safe. hope you get power back soon.

No bad weather here today. Wasn't the prettiest day, but it was ok, more sun than clouds. Do I need to hitch my boat up and come rescue all the Raiders sitting on top of their roofs tonight? I know it's gotta be tough, riding the storm out nearly 100 miles away from the action. In all seriousness, it sucks for everyone who lost power. It's really bad for the people in Lake Charles. Had Laura not hit a month ago, it wouldn't be bad.

Both coaches gotta agree to a move. If we said we'll play Saturday, then that was our call. We're not playing today, which is what y'all wanted. Newton has already rescheduled it's Thursday game to Saturday. With the storm forecast has changed and will make landfall later, it'll be wet where you're at most of the day, but it'll probably be a Laura repeat up here. If you're so worried about the storm, spend today getting ready for the storm.

no one is playing in unsafe conditions. that's never an option. That you think I was advocating that is asinine on your part. I always said get prepared for the storm today. and that if if was bad, we weren't playing Friday. Hence the crybaby remarks to Raider fans.

Whatever, go read what I wrote. I never said when they would make a change, just that if weather mandated it would change. And that you wouldn't have to worry about driving in bad weather because if it ain't safe to play it ain't safe to drive. Ugh, y'all some crybabies.
