Lone Star team preview for the Dayton Broncos
H-D BOBCAT 55 replied to BellBiz30's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
History? Dayton was a doormat bottom of the barrel program prior to 1997. Since 97 they have been great. I remember when Dayton would win 1-2 games a season for decades. lol -

The UIL is mandating 2 a days. If a team practices twice a day, the second practice has to be a walk through and the next day you can only practice for 1.5 hours. Lots of Coaches just doing evening 3 hour workouts.
HD had a pretty decent year last year. Will probably have another good year. I can see them playing Alto again in round 3. And... Coach Finney probably is an excellent coach. But, you take away those move-ins and HD is absolute trash. When this season is over and most of those kids graduate....I bet Finney is on a plane out of Houston going back to where ever he came from. Things are about to be real bad in Bobcat land after this football season. Might want to transfer your kids now before it's too late.
LOL! What a WORM! ;D HD Nation! -
Watching Warren Sapp's HOF speech and he mentioned his brothers Parnell and Arnell Lykes. For yall that didn't know, Arnell and Parnell Lykes played football for the Fighting Hull-Daisetta Bobcats. My cousin George Westbrook played with them. Warren Sapp talked about watching his big brother Parnell, rush for over 300 yards and 5 TD's in one game, as a Hull-Daisetta Bobcat. HD's football pride and tradition was talked about, even in Canton Ohio at the Hall of Fame. Way to represent Lykes brothers. I'm proud and blessed to be a Hull-Daisetta Bobcat.

If they stick Harper at QB and leave him there, they will suprise some teams. Arnold will be a game breaker for the next three years if he doesnt' decide to soley concentrate on basketball. Newton will run away with this district, but I think the #2-#6 spot is wide open. You want to say EC is an easy pick for second, but you never know how they will respond to the loss of a big time player like Glen Roberts amoung others. This is how I see it: 1. Newton 2. East Chambers 3. Kountze 4. Anahauc 5. Woodville 6. Kirbyville 7. Hardin 8. Warren
Me and a HD fan actually agreeing.. lol
No way Kountze gets the 3rd spot. The 4th spot may be a chance. When those basketball players start getting hit in the mouth mid season, they get injured or hurt. Look at last season. -

The greatest defensive teams...
H-D BOBCAT 55 replied to kcat-fan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The Hull-Daisetta Bobcats won Regional Championships in 1936, 1937 and 1938. Regional was the equivalent of State back then. The 1936 Hull-Daisetta Bobcat defense gave up just "6 points all season". By far one of the greatest defenses of all time. Can you imagine that, playing not just a regular season, but going through the playoffs and winning it all and only allowing one TD. Wow! In the three championship years H-D gave up just 101 points total. Heck, some teams give up 101 points in 2 games. lol. Click the link below, a great read for true football lovers. This was the start of H-D's National record 43 game winning streak. In 1939 H-D lost the State/Regional Championship to Humble, snapping H-D's 43 game winning streak. In 4 seasons 1936-1939, H-D gave up just 158 points. One of the best defensives of all time. [Hidden Content] -

Cole is 6'0 205 4.6 and Chase is 6'5 200 4.6. Both kids have the ability to play D-1 ball. Youtube their highlights. To bad H-D lost them. SMH
The younger brother Chase definitely will play D1. He had over 1100 receiving yards last year as a sophomore, Texas and Georgia are all over him. When they played 7 on 7 in Crosby earlier this summer Cole was playing qb so I didn't get to see what he really had at receiver but he looks good on the film i just watched. If the transfer thing is true then Chase would play opposite of Raelon giving us two 6-4 wideouts and putting 6-3 200lb Cullen Lee in the slot. Cole would play the other slot position giving us 4 receivers over 6' and in the 190-200 lb range. Sounds good for Austin who would almost certainly average over 10 ypc again with that many kids on the field having to be respected. We threw for nearly 340 on SC last year with a couple drops that would have changed the game and gave us well over 400 yards. That's not really our game but if we have these two kids it could be an option instead of the requirement it turned into last year. I hope it's true.
Cole was injured last season, missed half the season. Cole is a better route runner. Chase blew away the Texas coaches at camp this summer, at 6'5 200 he is a beast. Good kids, I have known them since their 6th grade year, they played junior high football with my brother at H-D. Both will play D-1 ball, wish H-D still had them. Crosby will be scary if they play there.
Word on the street is they're a couple of big softies.
Nobody in the district plays more finesse than SC. You do realize even before these kids that might have transferred that AJ Jeffrey wouldn't start at received here but he does at SC and is most likely going to he the #2 option. Not to knock the kid but the Crosby kids said he can't even catch. IDK how valid that is but that's the word on the street over here. IDK how bad we will be after this year either. We'll be young but we should have the best defense we've had in a while in '14. Austin's replacement will be a kid named Taylor Perry who a lot of people feel will be the best rb in our history and probably has a sophomore season comparable to Austin's 1485 he put up as a soph. Jordan Hill will replace Raelon and might already be better than him, he has a twin brother and they're bot already 6-2. Aston's going to be replaced by either Tristan Cotton who some want to start as a soph. this year or Manny Netherly who's 6-3 and the fastest kid coming to high school, he's won everything in track. I know Riordan is looking at this kid as his next Tyrik Rollison. We also have this kid named Shamal Gray who could end up being the best of them all if he can stay on the field. We won't be as good in '14 as we will be this year but the cupboard is pretty full over here. If Chase went to school here he would probably get close to 100 targets his senior year and have another 1000 yard season which would actually be very beneficial to his recruitment.
Their move in's, no restrictions. Not transfers. -
