1. North Shore and Galena Park have a huge jumbo tron and tv's all over stadium. Nice complex.
 2. Congrats! What a great young man and an awesome family. His dad Coached me at H-D. Coach Brown pushed his son to be great, he himself was an All-American cornerback.
 3.
How about bringing Stan Hodges back?
I think that would be a good move. Hodges left on good terms, due to family reasons. He is at Galveston Ball right now.
 4. That's right, thanks. They got him playing receiver.
 5. Chisholm Marberry of Hull-Daisetta is a QB that is participating for the east.
 6.

Smoking Baby, what does Hardin county have to do with HD?
You mean besides smelling like sulfer and having the best tasting water in town?  ;D ;D
That's Saratoga/West Hardin, not H-D. LOL
 7. Well... yesterday's evening workout had a big turn out. It was a very hard working group of young men, seemed like most of our top athletes made the evening workout. The two move in players from Baytown have a ton of speed, they lead most of the drills. Coach Finney has a great program regimen.
 8.
And the HD girls will be as physical as the guys. All are expected to work hard and be physical in Coach Finneys program.
Yes indeed!
 9.

I talked with a friend that used to work with the kids dad. The info I got is that they are both juniors and brothers. Heard they played at Barbers Hill and were decent size kids, probably 6'0 200lbs or more. Let's not forget Brady Ben was also a move in from BH last season, he is one of our top players at 6'2 230lbs.
It is HD after all, any kid is likely an improvement on another.  Especially if they are 6-2 and 230.  Nothing against Brady, but man how may 6-2 230 fellas you hiding in those woods anyway?  ;D
Brady is more like 6'0 215lbs, and yes we have some big kids. THe O-line this year is gonna be bigger than the last few years. We will average about 240lbs. Chris Taylor is a beast at 250lbs, Cook is 250lbs, Abraham is 230lbs and Stanley is 230lbs.
 10.
Great News!  I wonder when was the last time the cats had 40 kids at an offseason workout?  I'll bet they didn't get 40 kids total all summer the last few years.  I'm encouraged.
Yes, your right. Keep in mind, while the numbers are good, it was 7th-12th grades. Still 70-80 kids total is good.
 11. This morning I brought my son(7th grader) to the field house for Coach Finney's strength and conditioning program. I stayed and observed the workout, it was very good. The kids were working hard with lots of energy and passion. I believe Coach Finney has an almost magical effect on these young men, it's like they don't want to disappoint him or let him down. A very organized and fired up first day. The turn out was good with around 40 kids, about 40 more kids are expected for the evening workout. Some players chose the evening workout over the morning workout. What I noticed is, not only did the boys start S&C today, but the girls did as well. Great job Bobcats and Coaching staff.
 12.
I can only report on what I have seen in HD as of late and it looks good. I have seen the football players attitude change and even seen the school getting involved. The field house looks great, the weight room is organized and the field is well groomed. It has been a long time since I have seen a HC step in and make the positive changes that Coach Finney has made in his short time at HD. When a teachers report to the HC that the attitude of the players have chaged, that is a statement of great leadership/discipline. That is what it is all about. When its all over, that is the two things you wont to see any player walk away with. Leadership and Discipline.
You are dead on! I have seen the same thing. Great post.
 13.
Finally got the "word" on the 2 transfers from RSS. They are transferring for reasons beyond their control. Definately not for athletic purposes. One of them was a starting ILB for Sterling and did a HECK of a job. The coach I was talking to said he will dominate at the 1A level he was pretty darn impressive at the 5A level. He's that good. The other player will also be a nice addition. Good luck to both young men.
The ILB brother will be our Tailback most likely, along with Drake. Man we have about 8 really good athletes that can dominate both ways.

YOU WILL LOVE "FINNEY-BALL" but you can bet the teams you play wont!!!!! GOOD LUCK AND YOU HAVE A NEW FAN FROM NORTHEAST TX.!!!!
Thanks. Good post.
I guess in the effort to be somewhat nice in my previous post on this matter, my point was missed somehow.  So let me be more direct....crap like what is posted here is against forum rules.  Not necessarily the first word usage, but the reaction once an objection to that word was raised.  Apparently, HD you can dish but can't take as evidenced by your whining and moaning is response to my previous post.  The rules will be enforced to the best of my ability...yeah...I might miss some...but I will correct the ones I catch.  So the choice is yours, HD and for EastTXguru, the same goes for you, you can abide by the rules or you can have your posts deleted from here on in and, if you do it often enough, lose the privilege to visit this board altogether. And since WWE is a popular flavor on this thread, let me oblidge: And that's the bottom line! 'Cause WOSgrad said so! Good day gentlemen!
WOSgrad I have and will follow all rules on this forum. Been on here for years posting. I have taken alot of heat over the years for the passion I have for my team. I figured you had seen me take it many times. I pick back often and dish it out, like you said. WOSgrad you are a partial administrator and you mingle with us regular threaders to much. You are very biased and at times you are very unprofessional. I will say your football knowledge is great, you have been very helpful at times. People are reading your statements, remember you represent SETXsports. I feel like my posts are good when regarding my team and very passionate.

But for you to make such a "joking" comment is totally insensitive.
Sorry bro, this ain't the life time channel. If your that sensitive, the world is gonna eat you alive. You can make your point much more attractive to others by remaining calm and intelligent. You will be banned for flaming or attacking another member!! We will not tolerate abuse upon another member." Now, I like shermdog, have used the word in question which is probably why I didn't send some sort of rebuke in the first place.  However, I do know of folks here that have relatives that are special needs and, like shermdog, have had the opportunity to work with special needs kids and could see where they would find the word usage offensive. But to use the tone you did when shermdog, a high school coach whom from personal experience I know to have contributed far more to this SETX community, both sports and otherwise, is not acceptable.  For that matter, it is not acceptable with regard to anyone.  I appreciate your love of school, that is certainly encouraged here.  But there are certainly more civil ways of doing that than you have done here.  Please be mindful of that in your posts in the future. And shermdog, my apologies.
First off I apologize, if yall really think that was a vicious attack. I have read worse on here and they were not threatened to be kicked off on the thread. I feel like you two are blowing this word "Tard" out of proportion big time. Administrators should be fair across the board. A personal message would have been calm, intelligent and professional. SMH.
You make the insensitive comment on a public forum but you want the rebut in a private msg?  ::) SMH
Steeler, when someone makes a mistake at work or offends a co-worker, management usually professionally pulls you to the side or calls you in their office, they don't scold you in front of the whole company. I do whole heartedly apologize to anyone I offended, never meant that word towards kids or special needs people. Sorry.

Coach Slack was a hometown man and it did not take long for all yall to jump off. Good luck with your new coach and rember dont be the first one to jump off if it does not go your way,
Brother I am a Bobcat, born and raised. I love Hull-Daisetta, and have always stood by my team even when we lose. I am sorry people like you don't understand that. H-D is a special place to play, places like WOS, Newton, and LaMarque understand. Also, I have always backed up Coach Slack, never did I do anything more than praise him and his staff, Joe Allen is a friend of mine. I have never jumped off the Mighty Hull-Daisetta Bobcat Bandwagon!! So know your roll and shut your mouth! If you smell what the cats... are cooking!!
