1. Yes, the culture of the H-D program is changing and getting back to it's roots. From the field house, weight room, football field, players attitudes, players working hard and pushing bodies in off season, it's all changing. Coach Finney has light a fire of passion and pride in our boys and community. This fire has been like a sleeping giant the last 10 years, and now the giant has woken. Coach Finney seems like a mix of Coach Skidmore and Coach Russell Roberts all rolled into one. He will pushed our players physically like Skidmore did and he will inspire and give words of hope and inspiration like Roberts did. Coach Finney walks the hall ways and drive ways to get ALL possible players into the program. You don't see Coaches like that very often anymore. Coach Finney is a friend to all, the players love him. He has the formula for success, just look at his record of 46-15. He turned two 2-8 teams into playoff teams and one team damn near state champs. H-D will be back on top soon, the ride has just started. 8) ;) ;D
 2.
They are not transfers, they are move ins. Had nothing to do with athletics. May not be studs, but a quality player at a 5A school (even a bad one) will be a good player at the 1A level.
Exactly right HDBobcat9, they are move in's. They will miss first two games. UIL rule.
 3. They are from Baytown Sterling just got real scoop. They are studs!! Both will be juniors this coming season. Both will start at H-D. One is a RB and the other is a DL type.
 4.
Do Jazz and Maze ring a bell for anyone?
Fill us in on the names? Are these the two new players?
 5. I talked with a friend that used to work with the kids dad. The info I got is that they are both juniors and brothers. Heard they played at Barbers Hill and were decent size kids, probably 6'0 200lbs or more. Let's not forget Brady Ben was also a move in from BH last season, he is one of our top players at 6'2 230lbs.
No way, with a limited amount of players. Just not enough kids to be competitive. Sorry, FFA and AG may need to be the featured extracurricular. No need to hurt or embarrass the kids. If you attend a football game you will see.
That is why they moved to 6 man
Indeed.

Haynes Has an incredible record, most of it at the 4A/ 5A level, and he was the coach when they won the only playoff game in school history, oh and by the way he was also the QB for the only district champ in school history. He was at every home athletic function icluding the girls hornetmom, and not to mention this place was a dump before Haynes showed up, I was here I remember, now we have some of the nicest athletic facilities in the state for any level much less 2A and thats includes the work he had done at the baseball and softball fields. No offense to Fortune but if Larry Haynes can't score points with em no one can
That's absolutely right.  Coach Haynes is the winningest head coach in the school's 70 year history...and they ran him out of town.  I think the folks at Hardin (much like everywhere else) are just too unrealistic.  There is no question that a great coach can do great things. And there is no question that Hardin may could have done better than they have in the past.  But bottom line... you cant win a horse race without a horse, and you cant win football games without some good players.  Hardin has had an unfortunate history of playing against some tough competition.  Even when Hardin strings together a couple of years with a lot of talent.  No matter how good of a coach Coach Fortune may be...Hardin still has to deal with some very talented teams.
Yeah, you guys are wrong.  Larry was never present at any athletic events other than football games.  He was disconnected during the school year.  Did not engage the kids, ever.  He wasn't run out of town, he retired.  Actually he told everyone he was going to retire and then come back in August to double dip.  Didn't quite work out for him.
To make the inference that Coach Haynes did not care (which you post implies) is pure balderdash. That being said, it appears that Hardin got the right guy in Walter Fortune to lead the Hornets.
WOSGrad, I do not mean to be confrontational, so please take this as a calm inference.  I have to ask, how do you know that Haynes cared?  Have you spent many many hours around the town of Hardin or been intimately involved their athletics programs, as I have?  Have you spoken with the girl athletes and hear them say they've never seen Coach Haynes at any of their events, as I have?  Have you seen Coach Haynes not show up to the school on school days except for the athletic period, as I have?  Have you spoken with the athletes that testify to his lack of care about them except for during football season, as I have?  Have you seen the change in attitudes of the boys since the arrival of Coach Fortune, as I have?  Have you heard the boys talk about how hard they want to play for Coach Fortune when they didn't want to play hard for Haynes, as I have? Balderdash? Maybe, but it's hard to call it that when I saw the evidence of it every day.
LMAO! Put him on blast I123!! Good post. WOSgrad sometimes tries to take over. Not on purpose, i'm sure.

 9. "Balderdash" lmao!  :) Senseless talk or writing; nonsense.
 10.
They have hired a great new AD and a great new principle.  HI is on the way up.
All 12 people? lol
 11.
h-d sucks..and will continue to do so. Even if they make the playoffs it's still 1-a. There s not a team in all of setx who wouldn't beat them
H-D is the winningest program in Liberty County with over 520 victories. Also H-D has more District Championships than any team in Liberty County. Furthermore, H-D is the only football team in Liberty County with a State Championship. No matter how long ago or what year is was... go get you one before you smack talk. H-D put Liberty County on the map a long time ago. Yes, Dayton has a great program, over the last 15 years top notch. Let's not forget the 80's and early 90's, before development pushed city folk into Dayton, Broncos had one of the worst programs in the State.  ;) 8)
Don't worry about H-D!! And yes we do play Hardin in week zero. You need to worry about getting smoked by Huffman! Enjoy 3rd place in district.  ;D ;)
THIRD?  They couldn't even pull that off last year, and that was with all of those D1 players on their team!
LMAO! Funny!!  ;D

 14.
I am very proud the Bobcat team for next year.  They are already working hard. These guys are coming together as a team. There are several BIG boys on the OL this year.  Stanley, Hopkins, Ben, Taylor..The last time I looked 11 players were on the field not 1 or 3.
LOL!! I was simply giving a preview and talking about what system we might run. The players I listed will be key for our team next season. I realize by your number of posts, that you are a rookie and new to the forum. If you would be patient, everyone knows I have been writing on here about the Bobcats for years. Those players you mentioned would eventually get talked about. Yes... it takes a team to be successful, not 4 players. Easy killer, don't be so quick to blow up and jump to conclusions. I love the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats and playing there was the best times of my life. Remember that the players you mention will one day be upper class man and the leaders of our team, just like the 4-5 that I talked about. GO BOBCATS!!!!!!!  ;)

 18. LP6 Liberty is a 3A and H-D is a 1A. Liberty has never been a football school. Heck, most of the Liberty teams won maybe 3 games a year, up until the 90's. Every once in a while Liberty would get a stud and ride him to a first round exit in the playoffs. And yes Liberty for years has lived in the shadow of all the football championships HD has won.(Including the only State Championship in Liberty County) And for you to call those top players out at H-D and say they won't play college ball is wrong. Tyler Drake lead that team in TD's and in many peoples eyes was the best player. Heck Drake ran for 6 td's in one game. I believe Drake will play college ball, and Chris Taylor has the size to also. H-D would have beat Liberty in football all the way up until about the last 4 years. Now with Coach Finney here, H-D will be ready to play Liberty in 2 seasons, trust me.  ;) ;D Get over Liberty football, stick to tennis and golf. H-D and Dayton are the football schools in this County.  ;D 8)
 19.
First off i said a DECENT 3a team, 2nd the Fregias' have never played for HD high school, there fathers did, not them, 3rd unless you were on the state championship team stop bragging, and even if you were, what happened in the 70's does not matter. And how does a player that was hurt all last year make the Liberty program strong? As to Andrew the kid is a great athlete and i expect to see alot from him in the future. They are both good players. But back to the STUDS of the team the people who make this program run are Daniel Fitzwater, family is from amarillo, Jordan Jones, Liberty, Jake Vaught. Liberty, Aaron Mosley, Liberty, and Dennis Antoine cleveland, so please explain to me how Libertys program is ran by former bobcats. And what is the win percentage of the last 5 years? It isnt the 70's anymore unplug the lava lamp and look outside.
I never said they played high school ball at H-D. I bet our last 5 years is not very good, but neither is yalls. Try comparing yourself to a 3A school, not a 1A. Liberty has 400 more kids and should be able to smoke us in everything.
 20. Your Liberty Panthers are all world!! Nobody could come play at the power house Liberty!!  ;D  Liberty has and will always live in H-D's shadow, we are the only State Champ in the County. And in the last 14 years yall are living in Dayton's shadow. Hull-Daisetta has won 63% percent of it's football games and is a football town. Liberty... well they have a Walmart. lol!  :D Good luck with two former Bobcat studs Andrew and Zack Fregia, Bobcats will make that a strong Liberty football program.  ;)
 21. It's funny how good you think Liberty is and they never do anything. Finishing 3rd is a successful year. If the players are as good as you say, Liberty should be going deep every year in the playoffs. Heck, they aren't even the best in the District. Huffman will destroy Liberty this coming season. Huffman does have two former H-D Bobcats in Cole and Chase Harrell.
 22. Prayers go out from Hull-Daisetta. May the Lord Jesus comfort your family.
