Jarred Howard from Kountze. Best overall RB hands down. Howard has the size, 6'1 220lbs. He runs with power and has the speed to break a long run. Like the 80 yard TD run he broke against Anahauc. Howard has no supporting cast and faces 9 man fronts every game ! Kid still rushes for 150-250 yards a game and 3-4 TD's !! WOW !! He is a D-1 player. Howard will mature even more in college.

When I played for H-D, I played against a couple of cold blooded players from WS Juan Mason and Marcus Horn. We usually would beat WS, but those two running backs were great athletes. If the Oilers can key on the West Sabine QB, and stop him it might not be a blowout. The WS QB is one of the best in State.

Since Highisland beat Colmesneil this season, and H-D beat HI 61-8. I say H-D 50-6.

West Sabine has one of the best QB's in the State. As a Junior he passed for 1,000 yards and rushed for 1,000 yards last season with over 20 total TD's !!

Good job cats !! Marberry ran well. Gilmore looked like a beast running the ball, who's bright idea was it to not start him at RB anymore.

But Lovelady reloades year after year. Our District is traditionally weak. Just being real, and yes Lovelady by 2 TD's or more.

Keith Gilmore LB for Hull-Daisetta is one of the best in this area.

So in my opinion Lovelady is the 3rd best team in District behind West Sabine and Hull-Daisetta. WH has a great new Coach and staff, but they are getting settled in at this point. Hull-Daisetta is the only school in Liberty County with a State Championship.

Jarred Howard is a beast. He is the only option on his team and still no teams can stop him. Howard is good for 150 yards and 2 td's every game. He does not have a supporting cast like other good backs in this discussion. He ran all over my Bobcats and we still won. Hands down he is the best back in this area. Howard would start for most schools in SE Texas, yes even the mighty anahauc panthers.

Barbay would take it easy on Coach D. Barbay this season as they met up for the first head to head matchup.  My answer was easy, HECK NO!  I said, "He will try to beat the tar out of his son and tell him afterwards, "that's how you do it!!", then go kiss his granddaughters.".  That's just the kind of man he was, and I don't think Darrell would tell you the same thing.  I am saddened that we will never get to see that matchup, but in a way, it is fitting.  Instead of playing Barbay vs. Barbay, you will now get to see two communities (Anahuac and Newton) come together and play FOR Barbay, and I think, no matter the score, everyone will win that night! Also if you don't realize a 3A has numbers on any 1A you are way in left field. For a 1A to beat a 3A is pretty impressive. Also Kountze is a 2A with maybe the best RB in the area and H-D beat them. H-D had 8 fumbles against Iola and 5 against Crossroads. Bottom line is if H-D holds on to the ball D-Ville will get hammered. H-D just has way to many athletes. H-D 28 D-Ville 7
