Caldwell 69, Shepard 22 E-mail to a friend Printer friendly version Published Saturday, September 05, 2009 1:21 AM SHEPARD -- The Caldwell Hornets had four different players rush for over 75 yards as they rumbled past Shepard 69-22 on Friday. Nelson Scott led Caldwell in rushing with 21 carries for 158 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a two-point conversion run. Teammate Kysan Woolverton had 20 carries for 128 yards and three touchdowns, scoring the game's first touchdown on a 1-yard plunge in the first quarter. Caldwell's Kedrin Sheppard ran 10 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Sheppard also completed his only pass attempt to Anthony Gutierrez for 50 yards. Quarterback D.J. Cumby added 77 yards on five carries while going 2-for-4 passing for 17 yards. Caldwell's defense scored two touchdowns. Josh Courtney intercepted a pass and returned it 47 yards for a score, and Tyler Van Dresar returned a fumble 43-yards for Caldwell's final score in the fourth quarter. Caldwell (1-1) will play at Waco Connally on Friday.

I received news today that Tim Taylor's surgery went well. Let's all keep Tim Taylor in our prayers.

Gilmore will be ok. Sprained ankle pretty good, he will be back soon. How is Hunter Davis doing emotionally? Hunter you are an awesome football player. Tim Taylor you are a great kid and football player, I am praying for your speedy recovery along with Gilmore and Davis. Tim Taylor if you need anything let me know. GO BOBCATS !!!

I wish yall luck and good health the rest of the season. I am sure yall will go deep in the 2A playoffs. I also would like to send my prayers out to the three players that were hurt and injured last night Hunter Davis, Tim Taylor and Keith Gilmore. I would like to say #10 D.J. Hall is Hardin's best player by far and one of the best players in SE Texas. Mr. Hall should play college football in two years, whats scary is he is a junior. To my Bobcats, I still believe in you boys and I know we will win District.

Hull-Daisetta 2 Touchdowns 2 Weeks Ago At Warren Warren 0 Touchdowns H-D's defense was very good, the Bobcat defense dominated the Warriors. One player that really stood out on defense was #11 Andrew Persley, and as always Brian Dempsey and Keith Gilmore were swarming to the ball. On offense the Bobcats looked good, lead by the great passing of QB Chisum Marberry and the juking ankle breaking runs of Isaac Humphrey. The Bobcats have so many weapons on the field this year, what a challenge it will be for the Coaches to get the ball to everyone. Great job to the players and Coaches !!!

Everybody knows WH has a terrible team this year, like most years. You need to worry about Warren kicking that butt and not H-D. The Bobcats already beat Warren, we will see if yall can. I don't think WH will make the playoffs this year in the 3RD spot, Chester or Colmesneil will. No playoffs for the Oilcans. Warren 21 WH 0

Great post HD9. Good facts. I predict WH does not even make the playoffs this year. Man playing a JV is embarrassing !!! WH can play my pee-wee team if they want !!! I believe Chester and Colmesneil will challenge WH this year.
