  1. I could not even count the number of Nederland people there. Way to many to count. They were all around where my family sat.
  2. I also forgot that I spoke with two men who drove over from east texas one from Hemphill and the other Shelbyville. They drove over together.
  3. Yes they were. My memory isnt always so great but I saw several people from Lumberton.
  4. I would like to say Thank you for all the support for the Port Neches-Groves Indians. You have been amazing on here. Several Indian fans have commented to me at the number of area schools supporting this seasons run. Last week I spent most of the time standing up between the two decks.I saw so many people representing their respective SETX schools. This past Friday night I saw someone from every school in SETX. A group of what look to be LCM football players, many from PAM, folks from Beaumont, WOS, Silsbee. Vidor, BC, Orangefield, many from Dayton, a guy from Crosby, several from Brenham, and a large contingent of Nederland Bulldogs there. I am in know way saying thats all these are the people I personnaly saw. First please if you make the game we welcome you, we thank you, and though I cant speak for everyone. I have been to many other teams games in my life. I remember driving to Houston to watch Central play in the Dome. Many years ago. I say all of this to say Thanks for your support not only on the game but the support from staff and members of the SETXSPORTS.COM site. You have been most gracious and covered us well. Thanks for the love and suppot.
  5. I will be honest When coach Faircloth left I emailed a certain coach with SC credentials and he emailed me back and said he did not know PNG was open 2 days later his name popped up on our list. If you like someone email them all they can say is not interested.
  6. Bailey has only thrown two. One was a hailmary at halftime. He has thrown zero in the playoffs. Remember he has only played since the FBM game.
  7. Thank you that means a lot coming from one of the premier powerhouses in Texas.
  8. You will be back. Ill be there rooting you on. With this trip PNG and WOS both have 8 trips to state each. It is an honor to share such a stat with WOS, Literally an honor. You guys are the blaze setters for SETX. We all respect you.
  9. PNG 249 season Points allowed SOC 256 season Points allowed
  10. If you think they mirror each other in what they do. Look at both teams stats. You should see they season stat lines. They are almost exactly identical. PNG Indians Passing 1850 yards 25 TDs 3 INT Rushing 3813 yards 43 TDs Total YPG 377 5663 yards for season. SOC Passing 2220 31 TDs 6 INT Rushing 3383 46 TDs Season YPG 373 5603 yards for the season.
  11. Plus the Indian players will be spending the night and not driving up right before the game.
  12. Leaving for The Berry Center. See you at the game. Safe travels PN-G and LH. Good luck tonight. May the best team win.
  13. Thankyou. LH fans are very good fans. I take my hat off to your community and team.
  14. A vert special memory for me my grandfather took me to the game and Ive since lost him. He was a Silsbee graduate and really liked Newton. He lived at Sam Rayburn near Plum Ridge and went to a few Newton games. He was a standout on the 1943 and 44 Silsbee basketball teams. He had a scholarship to Lamar and then 82 years ago yesterday happened and they cancelled Lamar basketball because of the war. He never got to play in college. Anyways I digress. It is one of my fondest memories watching Newton win state.
  15. Thank you for the post. I will say this. From an inside source we had an offer on the table that would not of mattered and it was turned down by LH, Please understand I am in no way saying LH doesnt have a right to agree were to play or flip. I respect the gamenship. I know exactly what was said and that the venue that could have held everyone comfortable was turned down by LH. PNG is well known for their following, This goes all the way to the beginning when we were playing in the late 20s and early 30s and they had two hundred seat wooden stands and 6000 people would show up and sit in cars, lawn chairs, on blankets and so on to watch PNG. By the 30s they were in the10-1500 range. By the 50s the 20000 range and we all know about the 1970s. The real question is how does a small town the size of PNG set the all time attendance record? 5 of the top 10 attendance records in this wonderful state. Anyway best of luck LH and safe travels/
  16. By the way we are building a PN-G library of football games on video, 8mm, or whatever you may have. We have already obtained games from the 1950's 1960's 1970's 1980s. 1990's 2000's. We only have a game or two of some of those decades. We actually have 2 games of PNGs all time leading rusher from 1955 Gordon LeBoeuf. If anyone is willing to share please message me.
  17. I have nothing but respect for LH. Even spoke with the coach the week after the game. He was a very respectable and had much sportsmanship. He wished us the best and said he hoped we won it all. I am thankful for teams like LH who have and know what sportsmanship is. Last year after the final play a LH player laid on the field upset. Two Indians ran over and helped him up and hugged him. It was a beautiful thing. I have been told on here I am not the person who can determine what sportsmanship is that its subjective. I disagree. Sportsmanship is what it is. PNG and LH both have it. So does Brenham, and Dayton. Their are others just some on the top of my head.
