  1. Good luck Mike from you pals at the Fire Station
  2. Yeah that little guy can hit....here's proof....better watch out Nederland
  3. Hey ...those stinkin tank farms feed my family .....now they may all have 3 nipples but still....it feeds em. Can't change the obvious...Daytons stadium seats nobody....it's small......whatever big deal.....maybe you guys keep the turf mowed daily....whatever...its still small and if ya want to be in PNG's district ( because 22-4a IS OUR District win or lose) ya better build stands bigger than playland at McDonalds. PNG 75 Dayton 0.5
  4. Their ya go Mike....jump on the band wagon......seriously...should be a good game huh??? Hopefully.
  5. PNG tramples Dayton 75-3 and claim ditrict title. Jacob Hemming's also announced his plans to run for President of the United States of America. Hemmings for President
  6. Hahahaha that is so funny ....i love games like this....makes it fun to talk with the other team all week like this. PNG 75 Dayton 2
  7. Exactly what Im talking about....this is worse than the Lumberton fans I think.....most posters on Daytons side just have this "better than you" attitude....hey and thanks for the english lesson....I'll try to never make another typo in my life. Some of it is understandable...I mean who doesnt want to believe their team is really really good.....just like I believe PNG is gonna blow Dayton off the ball with no problems and win big....i guess it goes both ways huh.....so actually whatever....no problem with the post there...it's all in good clean fun anyhow......just remember...tommorow night...whenever Hemmings runs over one of your linebackers and it makes you cring back in your seat and say to yourself." Oh My God"...think of me typing " I TOLD YOU SO" hahahahahaha PNG 75 Dayton 3
  8. Ive read through this board and Im laughing..... if you'd have known anything about Dayton in your life...you'd think they have gone undefeated for like the last 20 years. It makes em out to sound like it is ridiculous to think that PNG has a chance to actually even score a touchdown. Thats ignorant....if im not mistaken hasnt Dayton been beatin like 3 times this year ? Sounds to me like maybe they arent so bulletproof after all. I love the hype though and it's all due to the poor showing from nederland last week. Something aboout spanking Big Ned in the fasion they did also has everyone thinking Dayton is the super power in the state. Dave Campbells new ranking have PNG at 19 Dayton at 16. Sounds like a good matchup to me. Im sure even those rankings are padded due to the nederland fiasco. I will go on the record by saying this... THE 63-0 BEATING DOWN OF NEDERLAND WAS MORE ABOUT NEDERLAND LAYING DOWN AND BEING A POOR TEAM THAN IT WAS ABOUT DAYTON BEING SO AWESOME. Now...not to offend my Nederland friends....but nederlland has had their issues all season and have some things to work out. Dayton fans don't but into the hype. This will not be a repeat from last week. Im pretty sure if the Dayton fans are at this type of mental state im almost gauranteeing the team thinks they just pretty much need to show up. Gonna be a good game . Remember Dayton is not made of steel and they have already been beatin 3 times this year....Im pretty sure PNG matches up with them well...hopefully I can come back saturday morning and see all the crow eating begin.
  9. From what Im hearing it is a very weak playoff draw this year all around the state. Dayton and PNG should have a good chance to go fairly deep and compete for all of it possibly.....we'll have to see i guess. Im expecting PNG to atleast make a quarter final appearance.
  10. AMEN...Ive heard enough about Daytons defense plays at a semi pro level...whatever...bring it....those stats you just posted explain everything i need to know....yeah they shut nederland out but big deal....you cant compair apples to oranges. PNG's run offense is brutal and there is only one way to stop it....you can call any play you like ...rush anyone ya want...but bottom line to stop this style of power football there is only one way to do it....you better be a bigger badder man than they are.....HEMMINGS FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Different Take on PNG Jeff "The Jet" Bergeron Charlie Wallace Dustin Long Ron McGill Ted Brach Garrett Achord Jacob Hemmings (yardage no...but for a power runner...one of the best PNG has had) Keith Wagespauk Chris Gohlke David Whitehead Really you could go on and on...the running backs and hard hitters are the ones that make these list....offesive lineman, cornerbacks, etc can have played their positions better than some of these guys on the list but didnt do it in a prime time position....we've had several really good ones who don't get alot of glory but could easily be on this list.
  12. I agree its gonna be a good game...HOWEVER.....Dayton plays with 3 down lineman......and small down lineman at that.If im not mistaken the smallest player on our o-line is bigger than any of their 3. Hemmings should have a field day unless like i said before Daytons linebackers pack a lunch and decide step up and even if they do then do they have the ability to physically stop a brute like Hemmings??? Daytons defensive scheme plays right into PNG's hands....it's weakest against the power running game which is what we do best. If Dayton's offense is not on the field it's gonna be tough to score points. Our defense needs to step up when they have the opportunities and get some 3 and outs and we'll be fine.
  13. I havent seen Dayton play this year with my own eyes so I can't really speak for them. I have seen PNG play several games so I can only go by what I see from PNG. I'll break it down like this.....these are two upper class teams playing like a few of the top teams within the state right now. Games like this could go either way. Dayton is a good team no doubt....PNG is also and it's hard to find flaws in either team right now. Usually in games of this magnitude it all comes down to how well coached and how well prepaired either team is and how bad the teams want it. We are talking about two teams good enough to beat anyone in the state on any given friday night. Heck even the Houston Texans beat the Colts from time to time. My main point is...you play this matchup 10 times during the season I think you'd have ten totally different games with close games, blow outs with different winners. It's gonna all depend on which team shows up ready to rumble. It's gonna depend alot on coaching...play calling...execution etc. With that said.... PNG is well coached as is Dayton....both teams have a really good running games. PNG has an excellent defensive front and the corners, linebackers and end play extremely well against the outside run. The defensive secondary from PNG is gonna need to have a big big game and step it up a little bit. We are good on turnovers from our secondary and the deep ball but at times are suspect when it comes to the short passing game but usually tend to settle down and stop short stuff by the second half. PNG's running attack is a brutal power game with Hemmings which is offset nicely with Wright around the corners from time to time for a change of pace. The recieving core and quarterback is right were we want them and as looked better and better every game especially since the nederland game. They look to be on the same page. It's gonna be extremely difficult to totaly shut Hemmings and PNG's running game down. They may not run for 60 yard td's much but that 4-5 yards a pop will kill a defense and wear them down. It's gonna take some heck of a game to totaly shut it down. Same goes for Dayton...gonna take a good team to shut them down apparently. Its gonna take an extremly good personal outting by one of Daytons linebackers to totaly shut Hemmings up and to do so he better bring a lunch. I say if PNG is able to run effectivly like they have on everyone else and control the ball which opens up 2-3 big pass plays down the field throughout the game they win. Flip flop that and same thing goes for Dayton......it all comes down to who can control the ball and dominate time of pos. this game. Time of Pos. and positive turnovers decides the outcome. Gonna be a defensive night....whoevers defense can basically keep the other offense off of the field will win. PNG's secondary willl determine PNG's Fate...they need atleast 2 turnovers. Daytons ability to stop the running game and sit back in coverage will determine their fate. If PNG is able to run effectively enough to open up their passing game it will be bad for dayton. Last but not least..... PNG's offensive coordinator will be put to the test.....sometimes when things start out rough on the offensive side of the ball he gets caught in the old bubble of run, run, run, punt or run, run, pass, punt or starts running hemming up the middle on 3rd and 8....that will not cut it this weekend. He will have to be creative enough to help get the offense jump started if they they face trouble early and not be satisfied with running the same running plays over and over even if they arent effective early. If the runs not working he better be able to exploit something else to force them to back off enough to get the run game going. Gonna be a good game. PNG I know will be up to the task mentally and ready to play. Gotta go with my boys here and PNG of coarse.... I think PNG 21 Dayton 17 You can say anything you want about Dayton doesnt give up points and PNG's defense is tough but good teams score points regardless of who they play....this will not be a 14-7 or 10-7 game...both teams will approach 20 points and the winner will be whoever can go over 20. PNG's style of offense is not easily stopped....you will not stop it just by having better skills players..it's not like shutting down a really good passing team....the only way to shut PNG's running game down is to man up and and be a bigger man in the holes....someone will have to buckle up and say im tougher and stronger than this guy and fight for it all night. Cant wait gonna be a good game. PNG 21 Dayton 17
  14. Lots of memories..... Running around under the stands with my friends as a kid. Watching alot of good football games and some not so good games over the years. Several homecomings with a few different high school flames....walking out for the first time friday night under the lights. Watching Butch Troy on friday mornings just before lunch walk around underneath the stands looking for loose change for good luck. Hearing Cherokee echo through the night air from both the field and the stands. Seeing a couple of good Indian Spirits stick the spear in the ground during the marching I and dance around it. Seeing the BONZAI signs held up hi on every kickoff. This past few weeks seeing things again from the stands, much older, and seeing that some things never change at PN-G...traditions will go on....the Indianettes will do the same dance my sister did in 1985 when cherokee is played, The Indian Spirit does the same dance every Indian Spirit ive ever seen has done....the football team plays with just as much heart and determination as every other team thats put on the purple and stepped on the field....some with better talent than others but still proud to wear the purple. The ever watchful presence of GERONIMO standing at about the 50 yard line looking back at the crowd as we cheer on our team. The sound of Tip Durhams voice. The moment when you realize they are playing the long version of Cherokee and not the short version. May the new stadium bring us many many more years of enjoying all of these things.....and many many more INDIAN victories.
  15. Lumbertons main back had 57 yards rushing according to the paper...what did their other runners have? I know their passing game to the back in the flats was working pretty good. Anyone know??
