I just wanted to add that a few years ago, back in the Coach Morgan era, I remember playing Tarkington at their house and before the game one of their players Dad's having a conversation with me saying, " I wish we(Tarkington) would pick bigger schools before district play cause we're not having any competition at the 2A level." I saw him Friday night before and after the game. I couldn't help but tell him afterwards, "I sure wish we would pick bigger schools at the 4 or 5A level so we can get better competition." I'm sorry but I had to say it. It just kinda got under my skin. I wonder if he still feels the same now?

Well, if either was on a 4A or 5A team they would have 4A or 5A teammates blocking for them, throwing to them, ect. So I don't understand the merit of the question. The kid from Evadale did his thing against a bigger 2A school, Villemez did his against a bigger 3A school. So both had a heck of a night! Exactly. I wonder if anyone asked that question when Rodney Thomas played for Groveton, Colt McCoy with Jim Ned High School or Eric Dickerson from Sealy High School? I think he was asking if MV would have the same results if playing for a bigger school. We'll never know and it doesn't matter. Just seems like another "hater" added. I remember in the years past Shepherd beating us silly. I don't know whats happened to their program but yes they haven't had a great season in the past couple of years. I hope the Hornets don't take this team, or any other team as a easy win. Hopefully these teams will help the Hornets improve their skills to be ready for District. Anything can happen.
