  1. Any reason why you wanted Deweyville to drop to 1A?
  2. Dallardsville, I mean, Big Sandy by 12.
  3. Great game & Congrats to the Hardin Hornets! Looks like you Seniors are going out in style!!
  4. Hardin by 5. Should be a great game!
  5. Not sure what Buffalo has done all year or what their team consists of but I've seen Kountze play. I'm pulling for the Lions & Coach Jubert. Good luck Lions!
  6. Crawford beat us in the Area Championship (Football) so we hope EC comes away with this win BIG! Good luck Bucs!
  7. The 86-87 Hornets went 5-1 in district play with their only defeat coming from West Hardin. West Hardin took the zone title from the Hornets in a playoff game leaving Hardin in second place in the Gulf Coast Zone going into the District 24-AA playoff tournament. Hardin played Woden in Woodville on Feb 20 1987. Hardin did lose to Woden twice earlier in the year. Not sure of the exact scores but yes we did lose to them twice that year. We tied Woden 60-60 and went into overtime. Another 3 minutes went by and the socre was tied again 63-63 to send it into double overtime with Hardin winning 71-64. Hardin then returned on Saturday Feb 21 to play for the district title against Broaddus who beat West Hardin the night before. Hardin went and won that game 56-53. Hardin went 11-16 that year but lost in the bi-district playoffs at Angelina College against Grapeland who was in District 23-AA. The team consisted of Daniel Marsh Sr., Ronald Scott, Rex Amyx, Chris Gola, Angel Leal, Bobby Mills, Joe Phillips, Terry Schubert, Troy Bone & Randy Snell with Head Coach, Greg Box. That was Hardin's 2nd District Championship in boys basketball school history, with the first District Championship coming in 1977. Hope this helped with you historians.
  8. Congrats Hornets!! Good luck in the playoffs!
  9. I researched this and found that even "I" have been in violation..lol..check this out: [Hidden Content] But here is a portion of the rules from UIL ~ BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS OF SPECTATORS ~ Remember that you are at the contest to support and yell for your team, and to enjoy the skill and competition not to intimidate or ridicule the other team or its fans. Remember that school athletics are a learning experience for students and that mistakes are sometimes made. Praise student-athletes in their attempt to improve themselves as students, as athletes, and as people, just as you would praise a student working in the classroom. A ticket is a privilege to observe the contest, not a license to verbally assault others or be generally obnoxious. Learn the rules of the game, so that you may understand and appreciate why certain situations take place. Show respect for the opposing players, coaches, spectators and support groups. Respect the integrity and judgement of game officials. Understand that they are doing their best to help promote the student-athlete,and admire their willingness to participate in full view of the public. Recognize and show appreciation for an outstanding play by either team. Refrain from the use of any controlled substances (alcohol, drugs, etc.) before, during, and after the game on or near the site of the event (i.e. tailgating). Use only cheers that support and uplift the teams involved. Be a positive role model at events through your own actions and by censuring those around you whose behavior is unbecoming. Parents and spectators should be aware that the school can (and should) remove them from the premises and can prohibit them from attending future contests due to undesirable behaviors. Game officials can ask that school administrators have unruly fans removed from a contest facility. There is no such thing as a “right†to attend interscholastic athletics. Interscholastic athletics are considered a “privilege†and the spectator who avails themselves of it is expected to conduct himself or herself accordingly. Keep in mind that you are a guest of the school, and that while winning is certainly an admirable goal, it is hollow if it comes at the expense of morals, ethics, and just plain common sense. The school is responsible for the behavior of their spectators. The school district can be and will be punished for actions of patrons in violation of UIL standards and rules.
  10. Regardless if she was a fellow official, she had NO business walking out onto the gym floor like that...unless she was in a zebra uniform calling the game. To me, that shows bad conduct on her part to interfere. It's basically the same thing if someone walks onto the football field during a timeout out from the stands to talk to a ref. Any other school or facility would have escorted her from the game and have her leave the premises.
  11. Hardin won the scrimmage 9-4
  12. Marsh had a few dunks & 33 of EC had one i believe. This was one great game to the end. This will be interesting on what the end result will be. Congrats to both teams tonight!!
  13. The Hornets will take this one at home in a close one.
  14. I agree, Bray is a great player. Seems like they'd play him more often. This should be an interesting district in the next couple of weeks. I don't think Kountze will have a problem with EC tuesday if they play like they did tonight. Congrats Kountze.
