i agree, if silsbee plays like they did in the second half against newton, then it's going to be a great game with wos. 8)

it was a great game. it did look like newton was beginning to wear down a bit at the end, but i thought they still looked like they had a little gas in the tank. i was wondering if anyone knows if newton ever put a spy on the silsbee quarterback? it seemed like every 3rd down and long silsbee had in the 4th quarter was a quarterback keeper. especially on silsbee's game winning drive, when it was 3rd and 14 after a bad pitch, the silsbee qb took it for a first down by himself. i think he made a 15 yard run. i give credit though to silsbee that played hard and wanted to win real bad. that silsbee quarterback is a great athlete and #28 rocky calhoun is tough. #21 for newton was very impressive and he's just in the 10th grade.

one thing i remember about sumrall is he always kept his feet moving. even after the defense hit him, he still kept his feet moving which lead to extra yards. sumrall was a touchdown machine.

yea i was a senior that year at wos. we had josh tims who was our big play guy on defense and offense. jasper had terrence currington. i think he torched us that night. the only memory i have from that game is when jasper scored their last touchdown of the night to seal the victory, the dogs quarterback turned to our sideline and waved goodbye to us. :evil:

the astros had a game? just kidding. i have to get my football fix, Georgia Tech vs. Virginia. but i am glad they are winning.

we needed png to win to put us in the playoffs, had bc won, wos would have stayed home that year. so thanks png for winning that game

i heard that game on the radio, it was very exciting.

i remember ron mcgill, he wasnt very big, but he was tough 8) i think png went 3 rounds deep in 89.

one of our biggest and best rivals is Jasper. it started in 1986, our first year in 4A coming down from 5A. we were extremely confident going into that game at our home field. i think everyone on the wos side thought no 4A school could beat us since we dropped down from 5A. Jasper gave us a rude awakening that night to the tune of, i think it was 21-8. however we got revenge later on in the playoffs. we beat jasper 21-15 in the third round and went on to win our first state championship. and wos and jasper have been going at it ever since.

wos vs. nederland 1989. wos wins on a long touchdown pass with 48 seconds left in the game.

wos vs. silsbee. should be a good one 8)

if png can establish the running game, they should be able to get the victory. they need to cut back on the turnovers. IMO png defense did a pretty good job last friday. silsbee had good speed and it was good test for the indian defense. Ozen should be another good test for them. PN-G 34 Ozen 21
