Predictions for Scrimmages this week!
WOS95 replied to CoachTater's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
i agree as far as scrimmage scores not having much of an impact on the season. but what everyone is saying about caring too much about scrimmages that is the difference between decent teams and great teams. Everytime wos steps on the field they are expected to perform and perform well. obviously the other night we saw some things that looked good and some did not look so good. but i seriously doubt the coaches say its just a scrimmage dont worry about it. if we get beat badly we'll be fine. and i can assure everyone, wos plays only one way and that is to win. because when the regular season starts its important to have that killer instinct. -

i think we are on target as to where we want to be right now. both the passing and running games looked good, of course there is always room for improvement. the run defense was very exciting to watch, they gave up a long td run to the BH qb. i think it was just a case of bad tackling, but its the first scrimmage so better to do it now then late in the season. the BH running backs were ineffective so hopefully vidor will give the run defense more of a challenge going into Dayton against 1000 yd rusher Dugat. the pass defense did a good job they didn't give up anything too long, however at times the secondary seemed out of position and the BH offense but together a pretty good drive with some short passes underneath. what bothered me the most was our kicking game, especially the extra points. our offense commited quite a few penalties also, but it's the first scrimmage of the year. overall it was great to see mustang football again. every mustang fan should be proud of the players and coaches for a job well done.

how about this gem: Kelly Football wrote: West Orange has to many Athletes for Barber's Hill. Wes57 wrote: Your gonna be in for a shock if you believe that. I cant see WOS beating Barbers Hill. Just counting the first team squads the Eagles will win by probably 2 scores. Irish Madman wrote: Seriously, do you even know anything about the BH team this year? Obviously not. Dream on. We'll see how your offense feels on Sunday. to respond to how our offense will feel on Sunday? i think they'll be feeling pretty good 8)

i thought the defense looked solid. they had some hard hits and were very quick getting to the football. hopefully they will continue to improve throughout the season. im glad we have Dayton and Bay City on the non-district schedule, because more than likely both will have a lot of speed on offense. those games against 2 solid 4A teams will be a true test.

tvc 184-In last year's shortened season Moshier got his first start and ended up First Team. Before him (in no order ) was Dustin Hood, Brad Sullivan, Kirk Dean, William Delage and Kevin Barbay. i think of quarterbacks too when i think of ned, wasn't eric cammack a qb too. i remember that guy was tough. -

And you better bet I will be talking this season!! NR-Yea right. You fellas were loaded last year and didn't do squat. PF-We took care of yall!! Which didnt take much.. Yall say yall are undefeated since pee-wee we will see what yall do this year! love ya blue!! i smell a train wreck

astros just took the lead back 6-5, but they need to learn how to run the bases.

i wouldn't mind seeing a west brook, katy re-match

does anyone know what kind of offense dayton runs?
-
well maybe that will help, its such a huge and emotional game for both teams, you can't help but look ahead.
-
i don't know if ned wins the district this year but they probably will be in the thick of the race for that title. they might win it next year. if im not mistaken png and ned play each other in the last game of the season every year. maybe if that game was played say the first or second week of district it might take some of the pressure off the dogs if it a must win situation for district. i figure that both teams look ahead toward the 10th week every year. point being it's such an emotional game for both schools, maybe playing it earlier in the year both could concentrate more on the district title instead of a victory in mid county madness. just my opinion.

it's 2-0 cubs in the 2nd. i hope the astros at least score some runs tonight.
