man i cant wait! nederland and wos at hooks stadium! what a way to start football season!

i have to disagree ;D, but i think silsbee and wos will be a huge game this year. i cant wait!!!

nfl playoffs are my favorite. so many people watch football, both men and women. imo the nfl playoffs are watched more because it leads to the biggest sports event of the year, the superbowl.

lol ;D thanks for the compliment AAW, silsbee has a great program too. i have a lot of respect for the tigers. silsbee and wos always play a great game. im really looking forward to this years game, it will probably be another close one.

i think lamar needs to worry more about putting a winning program out on the football field than worrying about the local school district's stadium complex

the spring semester hasn't started yet, so i think the crowds will get bigger once all the students are back on campus.

personally i like the new white helmet. maybe if they added a red stripe down the middle of the helmet it would look even better

Agreed! The fourth quarter it seemed like WOS ran the same exact play every play and we still could not stop it. Like someone else said on here what does WOS have to prove against OF. We don't have a history. I respect them and I think alot of WOS people respect us too. I know Hooks and Morrison are good friends and speak all the time. a lot of of wos fans do respect orangefield. i am one of them, every year i pull for the bobcats to make the playoffs. 8)

if silsbee plays up to their potential and doesn't turn the ball over too much, they should win this game. I was impressed with HJ defense they had some good speed and they tackled really well. Silsbee-38 HJ-14

That's funny...if a particular sport were king then you would think that sport would have the most state championships and state appearances in a given area. In SE TExas basketball has more than double the state appearances and state championships that football does going back over 40 years.....and football has twice as many state championships to play for. Hmmmmm....so much for being king. football IS king in Texas. all the other sports are here just to fill in the time between football season.

That menard kid for BC is tough. i didn't realize he was a freshman till after the game. As far as the punting issue, the snap was terrible and haynes saw an opening and took it. to begin with it was like 4th and forever so i figured someone from BC could have made the tackle.

i'd have to say west brook. wos has as much talent as anyone who steps on the field with them. in this case, however, i think west brook would just be too much to handle. i will say though, it would be fun to see how christian michael would do against a cornel thompson chain gang defense. 8)

good post skipper, hooks is one of the main reasons for 20 plus years of good memories for mustang fans. it's going to be different not seeing him on the sidelines when he does decide to hang it up.

i find it very amusing that everyone thinks wos is only concerned about athletics and not academics. yes our football team is very successful, but most of our other athletic programs are not exactly what i would call the best in the area hopefully they are turning around. our athletic facilities are the same ones we used when west orange stark did not even exist, they're from the days of the west orange chiefs. the bond issue that recently passed is for new schools and improvements to existing schools first and then if there is any money left over after those projects then athletics will be addressed. as far as the students from wos, every year kids from wos attend major universities and are very successful after high school.

yeah, me too! i wonder how they will do that? will we just show our student id's at the gate? or will we have to physically pick up the tickets a few days before the games?
