  1. HJ has no chance this year.
  2. Superfly...are u serious? This has been rehashed before. The Indians have the permission of the Cherokee nation. Check out pngindians.com Who will PN-G hire as head coach/AD??? That's a good question. I know they are ready for a change over there. We'll see what happens.
  3. While I like what I see, I do not think that will be the 4 teams to make the playoffs in 20-4a. I think Livingston will steal one of those spots from either Vidor or Nederland. Hope I'm wrong though.
  4. What's the word on J'covan Brown? Do the Seahawks have any shot at landing him? I don't know what his options are right now, but it could have a big impact locally if he stayed. What are his overseas prospects? He's a great player, but he still seems to be lacking in the maturity dept. Hope he can get things together and help the local team.
  5. I heard he's been playing in the Pt. Arthur YMCA Men's league on BJ Tyler's team. I thought he would be heading to Austin by now?
  6. Yes, Hammond is coming back as well as the Newcomer of the Year Dionte Forney. Along with those two, Ned has a solid group of seniors all with varsity experience. That is why I think Ned will take their game up a level. I know Central will be athletic and tough like always. We almost had y'all last year, I think this is the year we get over the hump. Who does Central have coming back besides Gulley? I know the tall kid inside was young last year, can't remember his name though? How many starters will be back for the Jags? I know Ozen has about 3 starters back in the PG, inside kid, and Moten. Don't know how they stand after that.
  7. I know things at the top will probably stay the same with Ozen taking the top spot, but after that I really like the Bulldogs chances. I know Central has some good athletes and a star returning, but Ned has pretty much eveyone back and a star also. I think the rest of the district shakes out with Nederland getting the second spot, followed by Central and Livingston. After that I think its anyone's guess.
  8. I know Ozen's freshmen lost to Nederland and I believe Vidor also.
  9. G-R-A-D-E-S.....He will not qualify academically for D-1 at graduation...He will have to go to JUCO, and there is nothing wrong with that, if he goes there, handles his business, and moves on...We must stop making kids feel like D-1 is all there is...Go to college (D-1 or D-21, matters not), GRADUATE, and go to work...That should be the emphasis, NOT what schools are LOOKING at him..Because at this point thats all they can do is LOOK, because he is not yet qualified. Whoa...whoa...I thought you had to have good grades to go to Ozen DickV. You know since it's a magnet school and all. They only accept kids with high GPAs and in good academic standing right? Personally, I wish the kid all the best and hopes he signs with Lamar. I think it would be a good fit. Plus he could help his home team get back to the top of the mid majors where they belong.
  10. Chad Sims from Vidor should have been somewhere on the list. He averaged a double/double for the year. Also, Brooks Ybarra should have made 1st team.
  11. Boy that Bmt talent sure hasn't shined in baseball. And Ozen hasn't been competitve in football for a few yrs now. And please don't act like the majority of basketball in Bmt talent doesn't enroll at Ozen. That's just the facts, as DickV likes to say. And please don't bring up WB baseball, we all know why they have success while Central and Ozen doesn't.
  12. Dickie, sometimes it's okay to say "I don't know." The picks are NOT done yet. The district coaches haven't even met yet to decide. Unless you think Boutte just picks it himself and alll the other coaches just sign off on it.
  13. Every team in 22-4A in beatable...including Ozen. Now I don't doubt that Ozen will win district, but they could be upset on a given night. Central looks to be the second best team, but that is not in concrete either. After that? Who knows? Gotta give the edge to Nederland at this point, but a long way to go.
  14. From what I heard, Vidor was down 7 at half. They cut it to 5 half way through the 3rd, then Ozen put it away with a big run. Not as much of a yawner as the final indicates. The Pirates might have a shot in the rematch in Vidor.
