  1. It's hard to believe Hillsboro only has 461 students. Passing thru it on I-35, it appears to look larger.
  2. I didn't read where anybody was smearing anybody's name. A question was asked, it was answered by someone "close to the team" (saying that it DID happen) and it's just gone from there. Noone called anybody names. Don't get so uptight about it. Like Coop said....get back on the subject. WOS wins BIG!
  3. I do respect other's opinions (yours included). I can understand how some people feel that no disrespect is/was intended. On the other hand some posters are now more aware that some people do think it's unsportsmanlike. I think it would be a great thing to bring up to the coaches. They may be completely unaware that some people take offense to it. It could be a great time of teaching to the kids. I respect your opinion because you didn't come on here saying that this was a jealousy thing. Trust me, it's not. I noticed this at the beginning of the 2nd half...at that point Jasper was winning. BTW - The stangs came out in the second half, simplified the offense and blew Jasper off the ball. The linemen won that game for the stangs. Congratulations on the win.
  4. I thought this was going to be a post about can Cleveland beat WOS in the post season play! lol
  5. J-dog94: People from WOS have answered the question, yet you don't seem to like their answers. You keep trying to convince us that it IS disrespectful when we have ALL said that we fully believe that the Mustangs do NOT think it is being disrespectful. As a matter of fact, we don't believe that the team itself even THINKS about whether or not it is disrespectful. Why don't you just say "OK" and be done with it instead of trying to get us to stop doing it or trying to convince us that it is rude.
  6. Let's see....How about I say it like this....I don't think it's disrespectful for ANY team to run out to the middle of the field. I don't think that WOS players have done it out of disrespect. I think the coaches at WOS DO teach character and responsibility...and discipline.
  7. I'm thinking that we played Huffman a couple of years ago when George Foreman IV played and we beat them in Conroe. It was right after Rita hit.
  8. THANK YOU! I was beginning to believe only WOS fans were the only ones who didn't care one way or the other. I feel like you do. If you don't like it....beat them.
  9. Know what, Mav? You have a chip on your shoulder or something. I went back and re-read the posts. My opinion was that it didn't bother me and I never knew it was a rule and I felt pretty sure WOS didn't know it was a rule. Then YOU bashed me with your sarcastic "you don't understand class" comment. Who is the pot to call the kettle black? We tried to tell you that it wasn't disrespectful in our opinion and then you go get the phantom rule-book thing. The field house number at WOS is 409-883-5530. Why don't you call Coach Hooks and tell him that not only is it disrespectful for his team to run out on the logo of the other team, but it is against the UIL rules, too! Maybe you should call UIL and we'll get disqualified this year. Would that make you happy? We have all stated our opinion yet you won't leave it alone and you won't accept that every single WOS poster has said that it was not meant as disrespect and no one but you seemed to know that it is a "rule".
  10. I don't understand it either...just what I've read on this and another post. Hey...it may depend on the ol' rivalry thing, too.
  11. I've apparently ticked somebody off this morning. (And it's just an OPINION thing!) LOL I know, let's have a spelling contest instead of a popularity contest. Maybe it makes someone feel better to go in and subtract from someone else. LOL....too funny!
  12. LOL...Must be an ORANGE thing....
  13. And baseball players don't run through a tunnel either. They are announced before the game and line up on the baseline in front of their dugout. Apples and oranges. I know, let's talk about basketball!!!! I think they ALL run out and meet in the middle, regardless of what's on the floor. Come on, guys.....
  14. Wow---a REAL rule, huh? I stand corrected. Now, let's see how many teams OTHER THAN WOS run out onto the field, whether it be in the middle or not....the rule DOES say don't get on the field at all, doesn't it? All of them should just run on the track after running through their tunnel. Wait a minute...does Lumberton have a track around it's football field? I can't remember. And I am wondering, do the teams HAVE to warm up in an endzone before the second half? Cause we don't warm up before the second half. There we go, breaking the rule again. AND, I seem to recall that both teams always come out in the same endzone....there MUST be a broken rule somewhere in there. Why don't we call the "don't jump on someone else's field police?"
  15. Well, we told you and others what we thought, then got criticized for thinking that way. It's NOT a rule or it wouldn't be done. Until it IS a rule, we probably aren't going to stop. I dunno....I don't have any say so anyway.
