Vidor won first with a win over West Brook. Their only loss was their first set that Thursday morning which so happened to be against West Brook also.
-
I wasn't insinuating that they have not been around, my point was, they seem to be more popular with more athletes playing in club over the last ten or so years.
-
Vidor went 2-1 for the day. They lost to West Brook.
-
Back then nobody was playing in clubs either so it was a pretty level playing field across the board. However, certain Coach's have the ability to pull out the best in an athlete(s) and that alone will make a huge difference. I also wonder what the enrollment numbers were twenty years ago compared to now.

Watching WOS only when we have played them over the last 4 years, the talent just isn't there. We played them last night and we played pretty sloppy but won 25-8; 25-10; 25-12. I would even go out on a limb and say that most of those girls do not touch a ball until their 7th grade or even 9th grade year. They had maybe one good block each set and each time, they all went crazy with excitement. Their coaching turnover rate for volleyball is also high I believe.

Being married to a coach, he (my husband) always make sure he reports his wins/losses/stats/etc. I agree on the fact of volleyball not being a big deal to about 90% of the area. My daughter has played club for years and it's growing, especially compared to how small it was 5 years ago, but the local interest is nowhere near where it could be. -

If I could remember the scores I would. I only keep up with the overall sets won per game. I have no desire to keep Maxpreps updated. That usually would fall under a coach's responsibility. Also, by no means am I saying we have played amazing, but I know every single game I have attended (which is all of them) we either play really well, or really bad. There seems to be no in between. -

I know, I had just responded to both of the statements made in one response vs responding separately. -

I will say this regarding Vidor..... I honestly have no clue what team I saw take the court against Hardin. I think I sat there with my mouth on the floor. We looked horrible. Maybe Hardin exposed all the weaknesses? I don't know. But I know the team I watched the previous 7 games was not the same team I watched take the court in Hardin. It was awful. Granted there are a lot of things that need to be fixed before district starts, but I wouldn't go as far as to say "did they play anyone with a pulse". The first day of the Silsbee Tournament they did play not so good teams on day 1, but Saturday the Championship game was between Vidor and LCM that went to three sets with Vidor winning. -

Vidor went undefeated in the Silsbee Tournament and beat LCM for the championship 2-1. (29-30, 25-21, 15-10) -
Looks like Vidor has decided on their new coach. She met with the girls on Monday.
-
I know. She came from a 1a school and went to PNG. I guess that was my point is that I don't see PNG going down that road again.
-
From what I have been told, the lady potentially being hired at Vidor has no previous HC experience other than a select league she helps run and coaches in. I would imagine PNG hires a more established HC, and the lady up for the Vidor job would be smart to take the position in Vidor with no prior HC experience. But that's just my opinion.
-
I know the school they are coming from lol Just can't figure out the "who" part as from what I've been told, she is not on the current coaching staff, but in the district.
-
Anybody know by who?

As of today the Vidor position is still open.

Vidor is open.

DuBois named Vidor new AD/Head Football Coach
Fortheloveofthegame replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
I don't think so. DuBois and Mike Trahan (who is on the current coaching staff) were the two I knew of. There were two more that had applied I believe. -
Two I am unsure of, but one is currently on the coaching staff and one was previously on the coaching staff but retired a few years ago from another district.
-
There are I believe 4 interviews that will take place Thursday the 2nd.
-
I agree. I would say two weeks? The next Board Meeting is Monday, March 6.
-
The position has been posted for at least 3 weeks now.
